Well, I used the IRSS program and it worked pretty well to launch MP... but for some reason I can't get it to keep focus on MP after launching, I've tried checking the little box that says to force focus, but it keeps unchecking itself... pretty annoying. so i still have to get up and go to my monitor and click on MP manually... bleh

I have tried it last night. It starts MediaPortal. In interface remote works flawlessly but when I play some video file I cannot use most of the buttons. As far as I can see only play ans similar buttons work. I'm using MediaPortal 1.1.0 Beta (SVN 1.0.4.24281) on Windows 7 Ultimate.

I too was in the same situation and I have now used this and it works a treat...

MEDIAPORTAL - free media center - MpFocus

I use the "MPFocusAlways.exe - returns focus to MediaPortal anytime it loses focus." one and I have created a shortcut for it in my Startup folder so it starts each times Windows loads.
