Hi sjeffrey

Thanks for commenting. :)
Are either of you using the binary patch files that I provided? I guess there is a chance that I missed a dependency. It is always a nightmare trying to figure out what files to include with a binary patch if things outside the TVLibrary have changed...

If your talking about the All_Colossus_HDPVR_Patch then yes im using it.

I was talking about that patch, yes.

Could I then request that you restore your standard 1.2.0b files from the backup that you made and see if that resolves the issue. Note that some Colossus functionality (HDMI, audio format switching) will not work without the patch. If you need those features in your setup then you can always reapply the patch later - I just need to rule out the possibility that this is being caused by the patch. If the issues occur without the patch then it would be best to raise a bug over here. I can handle TV Server and simple MP issues, but things like this are better dealt with by other people that specialise more in MP...

PS: I apologise for the inconvenience. :sorry:
I'm sure this must be frustrating for you and I'm doing my best to help.

    Absolutely

My post might have been lost but I reported about 2 weeks ago that your patch doesn't fix all issues for me.
I still get stutter when using SPDIF. It is A LOT better then before though, so I actually have been running you patch and just living with the occasional stutter.

Without the patch it's fine. Im using Toslink/SPDIF, what will I lose without the patch?

Hmmm, so my patch is the cause. :(
You did copy the TvLibrary.Interfaces.dll to the MP client folder when you installed it didn't you? I just can't think of any reason why the client would be affected like that for weird stuff like weather. In any case, I'll provide a fuller set of DLLs/EXEs for the patch this evening when I get home from work.

In answer to your question: you'd lose HDMI support, and you'd lose the ability to properly detect the audio encoding (AAC or AC3/DD). The audio issue would result in silence when changing between channels with different audio encodings.

    Hi everyone

shamus252: I got your PM. Please accept my apologies for not posting these earlier. I was *exhausted* at the end of yesterday - its been a very long week for me. I shouldn't make commitments I can't keep. I'm *very* glad to have a 3 day weekend! :)

With that said, the binaries are attached. There are so many it almost feels like doing a drop in replacement for TV Server!

    Folder allocation

    TV Server
    (all except TvPlugin.dll)

    MediaPortal
    - Common.Utils.dll
    - DirectShowLib.dll
    - PowerScheduler.Interfaces.dll
    - TvBusinessLayer.dll
    - TvControl.dll
    - TVDatabase.dll
    - TvLibrary.Interfaces.dll

    MediaPortal\plugins\Windows
    - TvPlugin.dll

Note: if you're setting up a multi-seat system then you need to replace all the files on your TV Server. That assumes that you also have MediaPortal installed on the server - if you don't, just replace everything except the TvPlugin.dll as instructed for "TV Server". For clients, replace everything under the "MediaPortal" and "MediaPortal\plugins\Windows" headings.

Remember to take backups of the 1.2.0b default files before replacing them.

Have a great day everyone! :)

@WileE: Please don't link to this until we confirm that it resolves shamus252's issue, doesn't have any other side-effects, and doesn't have any regressions...

Have a great day everyone! :)

Menu's seem good now going to test some more tho had maybe 1 lock up 30 min's or so time. Also I don't know if this is related to the patch or not, but when I change channels I get sound distortion and popping for a sec.

Also today started in with HD channels freezing. It doesn't crash MP but I have to exit out from watching and re-enable. <--- does this on HD channels only, SD channels are fine. Also HD channels come in on tv server config in preview just not in MP. Might be a setting I change or something tho I don't know

I'm really grateful for the help mm!

Good to hear - let me know if you have any further trouble...

Are your channels all AC3/DD, or all AAC? You're only using the RCA L/R in aren't you?

Also today started in with HD channels freezing.
    Was this happening before?

That would indicate that it is a codec setting issue. Preview uses the codecs with the highest merit in the system whereas viewing in MediaPortal uses the codecs that you specify in MP configuration. Unless you know how to manipulate codec merits using software like Filmerit or through GraphStudio etc. I would *strongly* recommend that you do your testing with the MP client. Double check your h.264 video setting in MediaPortal configuration...

mm, I am watching this thread very closesely as I still face the issues mentioned in one of my earlier posts. I face a lot of live TV stuttering and quite often issues when changing channels (e.g. no sound). I have some time now to nail down the issues, so I try to approach this as systematically as possible.

I am running TV server on a dedicated server machine, and I watch TV on the client mentioned in my system specs. Here are some details about the server:

    Hardware:
    - Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E8600
    - Asus P5QPL-AM motherboard with Video Intel GMA 4500
    - 4 GB Kingston ValueRAM DDR2 667MHz CL
    - Hauppauge Colossus with the 29111 driver

    Software:
    - Windows 7 Professional updated with latest patches
    - MP 1.2.0 Beta (installed for testing purposes)
    - MP TV Server with your latest patches All_Colossus_HDPVR_Patch(v2) installed
    - ArcSoft ShowBiz

    Mediaportal TV decoder settings:
    - MPEG-2 Video decoder: Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder
    - H.264 Video decoder: Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder
    - MPEG/AC3 audio decoder: Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder
    - LATM AAC Audio decoder: MONOGRAM AAC Decoder
    - DD+ Audio decoder: Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder

For now, I am testing using the MP client on the server to reduce complexity.

The attached logs registered the following steps:

    - Starting TV Service, start MP, Access EPG

    - Accessing channel "Planet"
-- ShowBiz says AAC 2 channels
-- Graphedit shows MONOGRAM AAC Decoder, MS DTV-DVD Video Decoder in use
    -- RESULT: Everyhing works fine.

    - Going back to EPG, accessing channel "Nat Geo Wild"
-- ShowBiz says AAC 2 channels
-- Graphedit shows MONOGRAM AAC Decoder, MS DTV-DVD Video Decoder in use
-- RESULT: Sound sometimes crackling, Stuttering picture.

    - Going back to EPG, accessing channel "Nat Geo HD"
-- ShowBiz says Dolby Digital (AC3) 2 channels
-- Graphedit shows MS DTV-DVD Audio Decoder, MS DTV-DVD Video Decoder in use (Connection between MS DTV-DVD Video Decoder / Line 21 Decoder 2 broken)
-- RESULT: No sound, Perfect picture.

    - Going back to EPG, accessing channel "Discovery HD"
-- ShowBiz says Audio: Dolby Digital (AC3) 5.1 channels
-- Graphedit shows MS DTV-DVD Audio Decoder, MS DTV-DVD Video Decoder in use (Connection between MS DTV-DVD Video Decoder / Line 21 Decoder 2 broken)
-- RESULT: No sound, Perfect picture.

    - Going back to home, turning TV off, closing MP

    Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot for your exceptional support.

    G.
