Hi skoka123 someone else in the thread had the same problem here's how we solved it:

Hi luci5r, sad to ear that this does not work for you. In ShowBiz, instead of m2ts try TS (Playstation 3 if I remember) maybe it's just that.

That Worked!!! I'm amazed that was the solution. I don't know why there is a difference between selecting M2TS vs. TS ... but i'm not going to question it, considering it works! I'm getting full bit rate quality (17 mbps avg / 20 mbps peak) + 5.1 AC-3 audio when recording through Media Portal now .. just like ArcSoft ShowBiz. This is great.

Thanks man - I appreciate it.

    Hi kilik360

So this change makes the quality control settings in MP work?

    Hi mm

    no it does not.
We can only change Hauppauge colossus\HD PVR bitrate in ArcSoft Showbiz\Total Media Extreme software.

Bitrate settings in MP is good for Tuner card only, not for Capture card.

The TS option (playstation 3) in arcsoft software is to ''activate'' the bitrate settings we set in Arcsoft software to MP.

    Hope it helps

    Hmmm, okay.

TS vs. M2TS is normal MPEG transport stream vs. Bluray transport stream. Don't know why that would have any effect. I'll ask my Hauppauge contact about this too when I hear back from him.

I don't know either why, but the fact is that luci5r was not able to have the same bitrate in MP compare to Arcsoft software until he ticks the TS stream instead of M2TS or MP4.

I did not do the test to confirm if it changes something in my MP bitrate. Personnally,I always been in TS (AVCHD) format in Arcsoft software. I'll test today and report back.

UPDATE: I did some test and the bitrate settings in Showbiz will be the same in MP even if I choose MP4 or M2TS options in showbiz. But it did the trick for luci5r. See post #717

I have MP 1.2.3 with a colossus card and a Ratheon ATI video card. All seems to be working except that the video I am seeing from MP is in slow motion (audio is normal). Where might I look for a solution to this issue? Thanks, Dave

    Hi David

Much more detail is required in order to answer your question. Specifically:
    - which Radeon GPU
    - which CPU are you using
    - which video codec are you using (see the h.264 video codec setting for TV -->here<--)
    - are you running a multi-seat (separate client and server) setup

It would be *really* appreciated if you could post logs. In fact starting a new thread specifically for your problem would be recommended as other people here don't seem to have reported this problem.

Follow the instructions for reproducible problems please.

Sorry, I missed the PROGRAMS choice.
Here is the log, details of my system XP, SP3, Radeon 5600 Series Video, Colossus single card, single seat, have been trying video codecs without any luck yet, trying to keep it simple. Thanks for your help Dave

    Hi again

Cheers for the logs. All looks okay there, except in the TsReader log you're getting tons of late frames, so possibly frames are being dropped and the video will look slow as you described.

According to the TsReader log the video format is 720p at 59fps:
    22-06-2012 20:46:32.125 [540]DeMultiplexer: 30 video format changed: res=1280x720 aspectRatio=16:9 fps=59 isInterlaced=0

According to dxdiag and the Mediaportal log your screen refresh rate is:
    Current Mode: 1024 x 768 (32 bit) (75Hz)
    2012-06-22 20:46:31.890625 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: D3D: BuildPresentParamsFromSettings using 75Hz as RefreshRate

Note the mismatch between 59fps and 75 Hz. Again according to your logs:
    2012-06-22 20:46:31.875000 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: RefreshRateChanger.AdaptRefreshRate: 'auto refreshrate changer' disabled

That *could* be a problem, but it could also just be some kind of issue with the stream received from the Colossus. Are you running the latest Colossus drivers?
