I've been using this card and an ATI HDTV-Wonder for months without issue. I noticed a week ago that the 1600 was not longer able to record. It'd log the show in the database and open a 6kB file on the HDD but nothing else. I read the MP logs and saw where it was not getting signal-lock. I reconfigured the tuners to write to each other's drives, the condition followed the 1600. So, I uninstalled them from MP, reinstalled 1600 -- still, no input signal when you turn on MyTV. I knew the card was working as I can access it via WatchHDTV, a simple program I came across several years ago. This told me it was a MP issue with the tuner or something related; but most likely NOT a simple installation/driver issue with MP as it'd been working just fine!

Here's the FIX: I'd read someplace about having to remove the card, physically. I powered down, removed it, powered up, rebooted and had MP w/o any tuners. Then I powered down, and waited 30 minutes. Reinstalled the 1600, powered up, rebooted, reinstalled the 1600 & its recording folder, the HDTV-Wonder & its recording folder, reassigned their channels from the TV-Channels tab and all was well again!

I'm sharing this experience for those who may be having persistent problems. I can't explain why this worked but I'm glad I remembered reading it and finding it really works! :)

    Hi Andrew,
just a question: I'm experienced a similar problem : MP shows the message "no signal!" everytime I select a DVB-S channel even if I can see that channel. This problem raised last month after an SVN update and never goes away even if I reinstalled the working image. The strange thing is that: when I open mytv and select a channel (i.e. FOX) MP replyes with a "no signal" message and I can see only a black screen. So I tune on MTV channel, wait for a second to see the channel image, tune back on FOX, receive again the "no signal" message but I can see the program on the channel. After the first tuning on MTV, I can see any other DVB-S channel even if I receive the "no signal" message.

In your opinion, your workaround may work to fix this problem too??

Thx in advance for your support
    Daniele

I am having a similar problem, except that it is intermittent. I have two HVR-1600 cards. The first 1600 card never gives me any trouble. The second 1600 card, however, will occaisionally just stop giving a signal, just as you have described in your original post. However, it is much easier for me to restore the card. All I have to do is reboot. Unfortunately, the problem comes back, sometimes as soon as the next day. There doesn't seem to be any consistent pattern as to what causes the card to stop outputting to MP, but rebooting always seems to bring it back. Unfortunately, by the time I discover that it is out again, I have usually already missed a scheduled recording. Has any fix to TV Server ever been provided for this problem? As can be seen in my system specs, I am using MP/TV Server version 1.0.2.
