Hello Everybody,

I've just tried to get some help in german section but there was no solution for my problem so I want to ask the whole world :)

My HTPC is working great and MP is configured fine but my TV server / MP is crashing when I turn on Live TV.
The TV card is a Hauppauge HVR 5500 with analog TV, DVB-C, DVB-T, DVB-S and DVB-S2.

MP crashes only when I turn on LiveTV with DVB-T in MP or klick the preview button in tv server configuration.
Scanning for channels works fine in tv server configuration and there are 27 available.

With WinTV7 (Hauppauge Software) DVB-T is working fine.

Now I don't know what to do. Attached are the log files and I hope you can help me.

Thank you.
Greets fom Julia ;-)

    Hi Julia1988

It doesn't look like there is any problem on the TV Server side. On the MP side, it looks like you might not have configured your TV codec settings. However I can't be sure since you created the zip file yourself rather than using the watchdog. Could you please post another set of logs using the watchdog with option 1 ("report a bug..."). Also, can you tell us whether MP crashes when you use DVB-S/S2 or DVB-C too?

AW: Having trouble with DVB-T - MP crashes

    Hi mm,

I hope I've done it correctly but there was created a zip file with the logs you can find attached.
I can't try DVB-S/S2 but DVB-C seems to work correctly. But there are only a few channels so that I prefer DVB-T.

How ever, thank you for trying to find a solution and I hope the logs will help you.

I did not change anything in the codec settings because I don't know anything about that.
In TV configuration of MP I also made no changes and I'm using no post processing.

Re: AW: Having trouble with DVB-T - MP crashes

I did not change anything in the codec settings because I don't know anything about that.
It is *really* important to choose those settings.

Please set the values in MediaPortal configuration -> codecs and renderer (section) -> TV codecs (tab) like this:

MPEG 2 video = Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder
    H.264 video = Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder
MPEG/AC3 audio = ffdshow Audio Decoder
LATM AAC audio = MONOGRAM AAC Decoder
DD+ audio = ffdshow Audio Decoder
Audio renderer = Default DirectSound Device

After you've done that, see if DVB-T works.

PS: you may also need to group the DVB-T and DVB-C tuners into a hybrid tuner. I'm not certain of that since I can't seem to find the HVR 5500 product page on Hauppauge's website.

Ok, I've tried this and it worked for some seconds, then MP crashed.
And now it's like befor - MP crashs when live tv is switched on.
Just for test I tried system recovery and set the codecs again, but it didn't work :-(

It seems that my TV card is only available in Germany.
    Here is a link:
    http://www.hauppauge.de/de/site/products/data_hvr5500.html

And this is translated with google:
    http://translate.google.de/translat...de/de/site/products/data_hvr5500.html&act=url

BTW: All "cards" are grouped to one hybrid card, but all other are disabled.

Okay, please post new logs with the watchdog using option 1. Attempt to start viewing any channel, then post the logs that are collected when MP crashes.

    Thanks for the logs. :)

Well it is actually 2am here in NZ and I have work tomorrow at 9am so I don't have much more time to do anything. Based on the latest logs (and looking back at the older logs) I'm now noticing a lot of continuity errors in your logs. Those often indicate bad signal. It is possible that the TV service is crashing in response to that...

    1. Are you sure you have the correct tuning details?
    2. You could try this patch and see if it makes any difference.

I'm not very sure that the tuning details are correct but 27 channels were found so i think so.
The patch seems to work "a little bit" :)

Now MP does not crash, but there is an error message "Graph could not be startet" or something like that, its translatet vom german, but "graph" was the same text in german.

On next try on another channel there was the same message.
3th try on another channel the message was "No Audio/Video".
4th try on the first channel MP crashed again.

After reboot and the next try MP crashed immediately.

    Attached the new logs.

AW: Having trouble with DVB-T - MP crashes

    Hi mm,

another guy said I should play little bit with the settings in the edit window of the tv card.
There I found the setting "Prefered network provider" and I set it to "DVBT".
This seemed to be the solution because now it's working very well.
Now I have some other issues but I think I have to test and read more about that.

However, now it's working and I hope it will also work tomorrow.
Thank you for your time and your help.

    Greets from Germany :)
