For those that care, Silicon Dust has a full installation package at the site that does much more than just install the app. It also updates drivers, configures BDA on the HDHR (even has a specific MediaPortal option) and sets firewall policies correctly. Very helpful (but never mentioned in their install doco). Thanks so much for your help MM.

Thank you! Thank you! I had installed the hd homerun application from the windows store, but the full installation from the silicon dust site is what was needed to make the tuners appear in media portal 2 as you mentioned.
