    Hi fenicio,

yes, that's right. For my system it was best to _not_ install them. But if you haven't applied them yet, your problem seems to be something else because I'm quite sure that those patches are not applied by windows update...

Then maybe you should try to apply them as regeszter suggested ...

    Bye,

    Hello all,

I have noticed that ShowShifter allows me to modify viewing format (RGB16, RGB24, IUV2, and IUV9) and viewing Size (704x480, 768x576, ...)

When my settings in ShowShifter are IUV2 and 704x480 picture is great, but if I use RGB or a bigger size tearing appears.

I have not seen this option in MediaPortal, but it shoud be the reason.

Do you know how to modify this settings in MediaPortal?

    What do you think?

    Thanks in advance.

Also, what type of memory config do you have? I have a GF2 board with onboard graphics. When I used to use that, if the memory wasn't in dual channel mode (IE matched pair in the correct slots) then there was a lot of strange lines across the screen. Normally dual channel doesn't make a difference, but when the memory also doubles as graphics memory then it is a big performance boost.

Another thing to check, is that when you are using a codec that utilises hardware acceleration, make sure that it is actually checked. For WinDVD and PowerDVD codecs, this is done in MP config, but for other codecs that don't have an entry in the config of MP you have to actually configure this in the program that they came with.

This thread has grown so big so quickly, hopefully we can get this resolved soon for you :)

MP is intented to run well only with Hardware encoding card. I think you should buy some new hardware to benefit of full MP power.

    Hello,

Marcusb, I don't have dual channel mode because I only have 1 memory module, so if this is the reason I will have to buy another module :)

I have been trying different decoders (cyberlink, intervideo, ...) and some of them are better than others, though no one is useful enough to watch tv.

I think the only thing left is changing leadtek internal encoder and use intervideo, but I don't know how to change this for my card.

regeszter, you referred me to a URL containing file replacement for CaptureCardDefinitions.xml, but inside that file the Leadtek configuration is equivalent to MediaPortal default file, and I don't see any intervideo configuration in it.

How do I activate intervideo encoder instead of leadtek's?

    Thank you,

By the way, CHli, upgrading both tuner will be the last option ;)

Save the attached file as CaptureCardDefinitions.xml (overwrite the original file)and install windvr3).
