Hello,

I have MP 1.0 RC2 + latest SVN installed.

I've created a TVGuide.xml file for Israel including Hebrew character descriptions (I used MegaEPG to create the xml). The TVGuide.xml seems OK (looking to it in Notepad or IE one can read the Hebrew characters/sentences). The file is encoded in UTF-8.

The problem is that in the MP application the TV Guide shows all the programs in "gibberish" characters (all is ??? chars). Does MP not understand UTF-8 encoding? Is there a way to fix things to see proper Hebrew?

I've looked in the sql database and it also contains these ??? characters instead of Hebrew. Clearly the XMLTV plugin did not import Hebrew to the database properly. I recall from the MP 0.2.2 days this used to work perfectly and one could see the TV Guide with Hebrew just OK.

Please help :( The "Wife Acceptance Factor" depends on this functionality very much !!!

Attached are my TVGuide.xml and a screenshot of MP TV Guide screen.

Thanks in advance,

Sounds similar to the issues I have with Irish characters. Perhaps someone will help on this??

I suspect the character set in the SQL database is incorrect. Maybe changing this would resolve the problem?
