Matis1,

My problem is that I always seem to end up going into standby (sleep) later than scheduled - and I always resume (wake-up) earlier than scheduled! The early resume from standby is normally a result of the kids .....

Cheers,
Craig

I seem to have this Problem too. It worked fine in MP 1.0.0.0 RC3, but in MP 1.0.1, I get a black screen after resuming from hibernation (yes, not standby in my case). In order to create logs, I used the WatchDog to clear everything, start MP, send the pc to hibernation manually and resumed. But in this case everything was fine, but I think that was just a coincidence.

I also tried the hack in the settings and also the "restart MP after resume from standby", but nothing helped. I am attaching the collected logs from the last 3 or 4 attempts to resume from hibernation (I think the one where it actually worked for some reason should also be in there).

    (I use a Server - Client setup.)

Ummm think I may have found something....

The failures seem to occur when I record concurrent programs on the same channel. Last night there were three episodes of Red Dwarf on back to back and I tried to record all three. The recordings worked however when I turned on this morning I got the same symptons (partial black screen and when I kill MP machine goes to standby)

This seems to make sense as I think this normally was happening on Friday mornings when I have set it to record two concurrent programs on Thursday night on E4.

Will do some more investigation later

    Spooky:

You don't seem to have the same problem like i have.
Your problem seems to be related to the MiniDisplay plugin.
Start the MediaPortal Configuration and deactived the MiniDisplay plugin.
And than checkout if you problem is gone.

If you can't find the MiniDisplay plugin click "Switch to expert mode" in the upper right corner.

    I had same problem.
If i woke up from S3 by using the remote/keyboard it was ok.
When i woke from S3 up for scheduled epg grabbing or recording i often got black screen.
When i disabled minidisplay plugin for VFD (imon) the S3 black screen problem resovled.
I never had a problem in RC4 when i was using the cyberdisplay plugin.

Same here. Resuming from either standby or hibernation gives a black screen.

Pressing the "windows" key on the keyboard pops up the start menu. Pressing ctrl+alt+del gives me my desktop wallpaper (with no icons) and the familiar "3-finger-salute" dialog. However, there's never a taskbar and not much I can do therefore. Mediaportal is running - my gut feeling is that it may be a directX issue or something?

I've managed to figure out a workaround for my blank screen problem on resume. This seems to apply to both hibernate and standby modes.

As background, on weekdays the PC is usually on from around 5.30 until 11-ish. I've now set it to start Winamp from scheduled tasks at 5pm - coincidentally the end of the allowable standby time range for PowerScheduler, so it starts at 5pm and stays up for the evening.

The PC initially has all the same symptoms as before (start menu appearing, ctrl+alt+del dialog ok but then I only see the desktop picture), but if I press a button on the remote control, MP suddenly appears.

I have NOT set the machine to reinitialise the tuners or restart MP on resume (doing so meant my USB tuner disappeared).

Edit - I take it back. It's broken - badly. I now switch it off at night before going to bed and remember to turn it on again before any scheduled recordings need to start.

MPstandbyhandler sorted out all of the issues that I had and buried deep down in the tread are some configuration examples.
I have tried this, MCEStandby Tool and others but whilst some addressed a few issues most introduced a few more and none would actually work exactly.

Is now very stable bar this one on resume bug

Is this the same black screen problem as I am having in that you kill MP with task manager and then your machine goes into standby almost instantly?

This is another possible lead as I am using the mini-display plugin
