Good to hear somebody sees the same results as me.
Judging from all the post, i began to feel a little depressed;-)
Its working pretty good here, but you guys still experience problems.
Ah well.. we'll just try to fix those too

Frodo

I think I know the feelding. See it the other way:
For at least the last couple of months im doing everything i can getting TV working as it should. Getting those PMT-errors, timeshift buffers wich are broken, etc.
I even got a technician from my cable company at home so he could test the incoming tv signal becouse of the PMT-errors. And guess what, everything was fine  . And I was still getting the most weird things when watching tv.

Anyway, it looks like everything is working great right now. I think tomorrow i'll do some more intensive testing.

I still have the problems with registering the tsreader.ax in SVN 15280: TVPlugin Setup presents the message
---
Module C:\htpc\MediaPortal\TsReader.ax failed to register. HRESULT -2147010895.
---

when trying to register it manually by using "regsvr32 tsreader.ax" the message
---
LoadLibrary("TsReader.ax") fehlgeschlagen - Die Anwendung konnte nicht gestartet werden, weil die Anwendungskonfiguration nicht korrekt ist. Zur Problembehebung sollten sie die Anwendung neu installieren.
---
(in englisch: LoadLibrary("TsReader.ax") failed. The application could be started, because the application configuraiton is not correct. To resolve the problem you should re-install the application)

I have tested SVN 15280 and I have to say:
    Great work Frodo!

Now almost all my problems are gone! I tested with Cyberlink codecs, TT s2-3200 DVB-S TV card and it works great, even with "prefer AC3" option selected:
    - fast channel changes
    - fast activation/deactivation of LiveTV
    - smooth channel changes
    - no timeshift issues

However, I am experiencing the following issues:
    1. When switching from FTA (not scrambled) channel to a scrambled channel (Premiere), then I have a very short audio glitch (squeezing/scratchy noise) before the AC3 audio is played.

    2. Once, after some channel changes, there was stuttering on ARD and ZDF. The picture and sound was stuttering a lot. After some more channel changes, the problem was gone...

    3. Once, after many channel changes, the picture disappeared. That means the LiveTV screen was black. However, audio was still playing fine. Further channel changes have been possible but did not fix the problem.
    --> Please find logs attached.

Keep up the good work. I thinkI will use TsReader by default now because the remaining issues are minor compared to the issues of TsFileSource filter.

    Hi guys and thanks Frodo.

I've been following this thread for a while and want to try the new TSReader. In the first post it is stated that the new reader is only for single seat.
Is this still the case? Can I test the tsreader by activating it on the TV server so it works for that PC but not the others?

Can I test the tsreader by activating it on the TV server so it works for that PC but not the others?
    1. install the latest build of TV-Server.
    2. on the clients install the latest svn build of MediaPortal and the TV-Client Plugin
    3. then create a file on C: which is called usetsreader.txt
now the tsreader.ax is used in MyTV and in MyVideos when playing a *.ts file. :)

if you want to stop testing it, then just remove the usetsreader.txt on c:

Got SVN 15280 running with new TsReader now. My feedback:
    - runs finde since about one hours now.
    - No stutter.
    - Pausing and resuming are ok, lipsync perfect
    - seeking (by using arrow keys) forward and reverse ok, lipsync perfect
    - channel switching by using the CH up/down keys is not reliable, sometimes switching to next channel is not successfull, then falls back to 2nd next channel (for exampel I am at channel 2, switching, MP tries to switch to channel 3, after some seconds I see channel 4). This does not occur always with the same channels. Jumping to channels directly by using number keys is always ok.
    - fast forward / fast reverse works, but is slowly.. the timeshift buffer changes, but the image is updated only every two seconds or so. So there is no visual feedback for the fast forward / reverse.

Update: I cannot seek when playing recrdings. After pressing the seek or fast forward button the player stops and returns me to the list of recorded shows.

It's working well for me but there seems to be some problem
    when changing timeshifting buffer.

My settnings for the timeshifting buffers are
    minimum 6
    maximum 20
    size 256 mb

It's working ok until buffer 6 is created then the video stops for a while
and then kind of fastforward to the correct position. Audio is working ok.

Can someone tell me what effects is has when I change:

    - the minumum of buffers (fox example set it to 1)
    - the maximum of buffers (also setting it to 1)
    - size of buffer (set it to 128MB)

Could it be ,when changing the size of the buffer, that all the live-tv gets messed up?
