Help with Card Detection (1 Viewer)

Sorry, but I answer all the questions. You asked me to install TV SERVER and post the LOG files...and I did everything! I never wanted TV SERVER, I just want MP, but, I've downloaded it, installed it and run it...result, nothing.

As I said before, I tried to use graphedit (AND I READ THE WIKI ABOUT IT), but, the BDA SOURCE FILTERS (I think step 3) is EMPTY for me. SO, graphedit didn't work for me!

I search over this forum for a week, all the posts about "capturecarddefinitions.xml", "PCTV PRO", "110"i etc...even HOW to get the Pinnacle Remote to work over MP.

I have found users that makes this TV TUNER CARD to get work over vista and MP without TV SERVER, only modifing capturecarddefinition.

So, I ask to this users, how they get this TV TUNER working ?

Ok maybe me a bit to jumpy to, sorry for that,

But as I said before, if you dont have a BDA card the bda source filters are supposed to be emtpty..
Are there filters in graphedit in the other categories i mentioned, that have something in there names that look relating to pinnacle card stuff?

you have several mpeg filtes you say. but are they for encoding or only for decoding ? you need both..

does the TVprogram delivered with the card work ok? can you connect graphedit to the graph of that program ?

Think you could best uninstall everything related to MP and then reinstall MP2 rc2 + SVN then start trying a few things..

The Pinnacle 110i is a software encoding card right ? do you have the right mpeg encoders ?

and another set of log files might also be helpfull.. or are the error's still exactly the same as in previous post ?
what is the moment that the error.log is generated ? by config program, or by MP ? or both, if so post error.log twice with descriptive names.

Hi piba.

- In graphedit, there is filters related to my tv tuner card.
- yes, I have mpeg filters: INTERVIDEO (from WINDVR 3), NVIDIA PUREVIDEO and PINNACLE.
- I'll uninstall everything and install the newest media portal. (but I don't think it will help anything)
- I saw in this link that you sent me, that, my tv tuner card IS supported by Media Portal....but HOW, I don't know

Do you have a working TV program delivered with the card perhaps ? (if so, you could try to connect to its graph from graphedit and see how its supposed to work almost instantly)

Can you look in windows under: Config panel\System\System Properties\Hardware\Device Manager\

Then find your TV-card and open the properties, find the property called DeviceInstance-id it looks like:"pci\ven_1&dev_2\3&4"

copy it somewhere(notepad) and post it here.

Then go look in CaptureCardDefinitions.xml and try to find a partially matching
<capturecard ... devid="ven_1&amp;dev_2"
( search for "110i" and see if that one matches)

If the one found with seaching 110i doesnt match the devid of your device try to change the devid to match yours better and try to add the card in Configuration again. if dont work first time then tryagain and again and again each time varying the devid a bit until you run out of idea's how it would match better..

If that dont work then place all filters you can find, and think might be relevant, in graphedit in the main window and try to connect em as much as possible.. Then post the screenshot and filter id's here. Just like explained in this page of the wiki: Add_TVCard_to_natively_supported_list

- I have Pinnacle TV CENTER..and works perfectly.
- Over Device Manager, there is a Pinnacle card.

So, I'll try to copy the ID and paste it in capturecarddefinitions...

I'll post the result later (cause I'm really busy this week)..

EDIT: I've tried graphedit...but, as I said before, I stop on step 5 (because of the BDA SOURCE FILTERS). I've plugged all the filters (the ones I have) and nothing....

So, later I'll try the ID and capturecarddefinitions thing...

- Graphedit. Try this while running Pinnacle TV CENTER and watching live tv.
Open graphedit and go to : File\Connect to remote Graph.
If your lucky there will be the graph used by the pinnacleTVcenter.. save it to a file and post a screenshot of it here.

- Also don't look for BDA stuff sow much in graphedit.. Look in other categories as well to see if they contain the right stuff. The wiki was made by someone who had a BDA card.. so he/she needed the filters from the BDA categories...

- Post the screenshot of the filters you have found so far..

Hi!

I did what you said, to open graphedit while running TV CENTER and click on FILE/CONNECT to Remote.....but didn't work...the box was empty.

About the filters, I opened them..the screenshot is attached.

EDIT: I didn't try to get the tv tuner ID and paste it on capturecarddefinitions....I'll do this later.

if that dont work then continue reading this post..
Insert following filters in graph edit and connect em if possible:

Pinnacle Auxilary filters\ ?
Pinnacle MPEG4 filters\ ?
Pinnacle TV filters\ ?
BDA Reviever Components\Pinnacle PCTV 713x Tuner BDA Digital Capture
? / ?
? / ?

Please post a screenshot like the one i attached of my own card. (the part right of the MPEG-2 demultiplexer is not so interesting i think .. but left part should contain most filters tuner/capture related to the card. connected if possible)

I have the same problem? Why can't MP see my capture card? Device manager can see it. Vista media centre can see it OK and it works fine in MCE. I can see it too. It is right there in the back of my PC!
