if i use the timeshift functions on the tv or i pause the tv, the tv im now watching is behind what is actually happening.

how do i jump back to live tv as it showing right now? - i cant find what key to press

using the right or up arrow key will allow for skipping forward. Unsure of a remote control buttons though

No, works exactly the same as sky plus and most free standing pvr's.

and since the arrow keys increment on an increasing scale then you shouldn't have to press more that five or six times fast unless you are a long way behind...

or even the up arrow, which is a "big jump forward" then maybe only two presses...
