how do i manage my channel mess? (1 Viewer)

maybe it´s a little unusual, but the wiki is rather cryptic in my field of interest...

as you can see above i have 3 tv-cards running, at last it seems that they all run and work fine in tve3. for my analog card i will have to manually add the channels for adressing my settop-box (still having problems to get my usbuirt going but thats another prob)
literally all channels are recieved by two of the three cards in order to be able to watch and record at the same time. now a am stuck with the problem how to manage these channels...

how do i tell the program that "ARD" on my analog card is the same as "DasErste" on my DVB-S2-card.
do i have to combine these two channels ????

Thats right - you have to combine channels with the same content. Run "SetupTV" and change to the tab "TV Channels -> Combinations". Select your DVB-S2-card in the upper dropdownbox. Than (for example) select the channel "Das Erste" in the left listview. SetupTV will show up you a list of channels, that are available on other tv-cards (including "ARD"). Select "ARD from the right list (because you know, that "Das Erste" and "ARD" are similar channels) an click on the "Combine"-button.

Afterwards you will only see the channel "Das Erste" in your channellist (now "ARD" is part of this virtual channel). If you want to watch this channel or if the tvserver wants to record it, the tvserver will automatically select one of the tvcards, that are mapped to this channel (in your case your dvb-s2- and analog-card). The tvcard-selection is based on the priorities (and many, many more), that you can set in SetupTV, too.
