How do other people handle ISO (1 Viewer)

It seems like such an easy thing to incorporate but it seems everyone is having trouble. I dont want to rip the episodes i would just like the episode to launch the ISO. So if you play E01-E05 it would launch ISO1, if you select E06-E10 it would launch ISO2.
Once the ISO is playing i can just select what episode i want off of it.

Thoughts?

ISOs are supported, but due to TVSeries design we can only currently deal with a maximum of two episodes in a filename e.g. series.s01e01-02.iso.

TVSeries will mount the iso and launch what ever DVD player you have assigned in MediaPortal's config. It will be upto you to select which episode from the DVD menu.

I did not know that, Helpful for sure, but still how many dvd's only have two episodes
I read somewhere about a pointer file. Basically a file that points to the iso. Is anything like that possible?
Then i would just make like 6 files that all point to the correct iso. and so on for all the dvds.

Yes I think the feature you're describing is definitely something we need

At the moment I'm using the workaround with the hard links and it's working perfectly (your need a NTFS partition), but it's still a lot of hassle for just something I find quite basic (a normal use case).

Do you need any help with that ?

Havent messed with hardlinks much, but they cant be that hard
My current setup however is streaming over a mapped drive which i am not sure if that is possible with hardlinks, My new computer shows up this week so i am changing my setup anyways and my HTPC and Server will be the same

Thought I'd post interest in this as well.

Currently I'm creating my images and then ripping the individual videos from them but this means instead of 28gb or so for a season it's about 45-60gb.

Haven't been on in a few days, so i don't know the status, but it works perfectly accept that MyTVseries scans iso files for media info. As soon as that is corrected, using hardlinks will be a 100% perfect solution.
