How long need your client to tune?? (2 Viewers)

Hi to all,

I am using server for my living room and one client for my bedroom.
i am using on both machines the alpha 1.2.0, on my server when i wake up my server it take less than 3 seconds to tune a channel but on my client it need more than 45 second, some times more time is that normal because of the network?

What is your times to tune on your client?
Any tip to speed up my client?

No, I'm pretty sure it takes too long ...

After standby my clients need about 6-7 seconds for the first start of a stream .... changing a channel needs 2-3 seconds HD to HD/SD - SD and about 4-5 seconds HD - SD or SD - HD.

GigLan / Standalone Server 24/7 / all with MP 1.2.0


Did your clients wake up the server for streaming? If so, I don't know how much time this takes ... my Server never sleeps ...

thanks for the reply,
changing channels its fast less than 3 seconds on my client.my server wake up also fast.Even if my server is awake, again client need so long to tune.Client is an Asrock ion 330.
I notice tha after the first tune tha take so long when i click to turn off the tv and then again on it work as fast as on my server side.the problem is just the first tune of the client.
how can i trace my problem??

First you should use the "TVServer stresstest SetupTV.exe" to figure out, TV Server is working perfect. (only to be sure there's no other problem)

But if you stop and start TV on client side and it needs too long again to start a stream, I'm pretty sure there's another problem. (seems to be a network or communication related problem between client and server)

Did you try other settings within the streaming Server settings (TV Server config) // sry, no other idea ...

no like i said only the first tune is too long,when i stop and start its fast enough.
maybe is an options with power save on the ethernet card of the client ??

i give up , i have try new cable then format new windows but still the same, the first tune its coming on the client after 26 seconds.like i mention after the first tune if i stop tv and again open it coming in 3 seconds.
Any idea? what else i can try?

I'm also seeing slow first tunes, from 15 to 40 secs. If I stop live TV and play a series or something and then tune a channel the tune is as fast as a channel change 1-2 secs. Did a stress test on TVserver and had 125/125 successes, so the server is fine I guess.

Tvserver runs 24/7 and client is in sleep mode when not used.

Firstly, this is a support forum. If you want support from the team then you *must* post logs. I'd really like to help you but I can do nothing without at least seeing TV Server logs...

Also, if you stop live TV then restart it *on the same channel* there is no retuning, so you should change to a different channel in order to test properly.

i have the same Problems. I have a dedicated Tv Server and only one Client tuned fast (2 - 3 sec). The other Clients need exactly 26 seconds to tune on first time. I make Logs withe the Debug Mode. I hope anyone can helb.

Thanks for posting your logs. Unfortunately your TV Server logs are almost empty. Are the logs that you posted from a client or the server? I need the logs from the server...
