How much RAM does TVservice needs? (1 Viewer)

Hi, just a "simple" (i hope) question...

how much RAM does TVservice needs? I normally get around 50mb when i start it and even when timeshifting. but sometimes after a day running, RAM values start to go up. right now is 284mb and not timeshifting or recording or epg.

so, what are the correct values? i only have a ...

1. TV Card: Hauppauge Nova T500
1. TV Card Type: DVB-T
1. TV Card Driver: Versión 4.3.25080


why do this increase in ram occur? any way of analysing it?

I't may be a small memory leak there, mine starts off at 30mb, and stays there until dvbepg grab starts and once this happens memory use slowly rises, but as i use MPStandbyHandler to restart the TVService on resume, memory never gets a chance to climb as high as yours has, are you using standby\hibernate at all.

Whats your MSSQL memory use set too, as these interact with each other could be a factor, but a dev would be better qualified to answer this.

i am running tvservice in a server, so 24/7. i dont use standby or hibernate.

ive also notice sqlservr.exe is also eating ram progressively.

question is... is this my setup problem? or something to do with tvservice?

so far i didnt notice because i had a bat file restarting tvservice each night at "not recording" hours.

yes, but its a server, and rebooting once or twice a day for that is not a good idea.

its important for me to know if anyone else experience this, or if its my setup.

also noticed, that when ram goes up, cpu usage by tvservice also goes up eventually (without having to do anything)

Mine is currently using 58mb while recording. Last restart was about 30 hours ago. Last S3 suspend about 7 hours ago.

ive been doing recording + timeshifting different channels at the same time, under 60mb.

the problem is that suddenly tvservice goes crazy and starts building up cpu and ram

trying to figure out why

and what limits are NORMAL.

I take it you have MSSQL memory set to use 128mb, does it exceed this at all.

Just to be exact on this i'm on a singleseat setup using RC3 with no svn, also using dvbepg grab, 3 hrs running and 43mb, will disable standby and check in morning for any major changes.

today reinstalled the whole thing and installed latest svn. got stuck at watching discovery channel after searching channels. i used the view button in setuptv.exe configurationwindow to watch .. after watching for about 6 hours:
setuptv.exe 14 MB
tvservice.exe 104 MB
sqlserver 76 MB
sqlbrowser 2.2MB
sqlwriter 3,5 MB
