Thanks for persisting.

I installed the SchedulesDirect plugin, and it seems to run without error (there is no text in the TV Service Error log), but it can't seem to download schedules. attached is my TVService.log file. Can you make any sense of the problems the plugin is encountering?

By the way, according to the log file it is correctly logging in to my SchedulesDirect account and correctly identifying my provider from my lineup info.

Indeed, it looks to be installed correctly, and is identifying your cable provider and lineup correctly. What it isn't doing is matching the guide data with the TV Server channels that you have... and that's why you're not seeing guide data.

It looks like you've already tried the things I would have recommended, which are in the "advanced options" tab in the SchedulesDirect plugin (within TV Server configuration):

• tick "rename existing logos and channels to match new format"; this should change the names of channels from "2", "3" etc. to whatever format you select
  
• untick "automatically add new digital cable/satellite channels"; since you don't have a digital cable tuner this would be unhelpful
  
• tick "EPG mapping by channel number only"; this should link the guide data to your channels
• tick "force guide update on next TvServer restart"

Do the channel numbers in the log match the channel numbers on your channels?
(A couple of screenshots of the details for one of your channels would be appreciated.)

I'm also wondering if the fiddling that you did with WebEPG is causing issues here.
Please go back into the WebEPG and XMLTV plugins and ensure none of your channels are mapped. That's really important. If the SD plugin thinks a channel is mapped with another plugin, it won't match up the guide data for that channel.

The channel numbers WOULD have matched two weeks ago, but my cable company changed their lineup on October 1st and there are now three additional channels (for a total of 42) and some have been moved around, and my own cable provider has not updated their own website with changes so it is not surprising Schedules Direct has not updated info. So, in a sense, it is the correct lineup. I am not worried about these discrepancies, as I know the updates will eventually happen (it would be nice to know who to write to get them to update channel info). It seems to me that SOMETHING should match as the channel numbers should be used the way it is configured.

I have disabled the WebEPG and XMLTV plugins. Is that not sufficient to eliminate conflict or are there any data files I have to remove?

What, exactly, do you mean by "screenshots of the details for one of your channels?" Which configuration pages do you want? Let me know and I'll provide them.

I think that would be SD. The contact page on the SD website says:

Problems with guide data or lineup information should be submitted via the Lineup Support link on the left hand menu. (Available after you log in). Using that link to submit Lineup/Guide issues will include some addition information we need and route it to the right person.

No, that is not sufficient.
The guide data link ID (which is stored in the TV Server database - ie. there are no files to delete) is one field shared by all EPG plugins. Like I said above, if the SD plugin thinks your channels are being handled by another plugin then it won't mess with those linkages. So, you have to clear/delete any mappings you created in the XMLTV and WebEPG plugins.

You may find it easier/faster to simply delete all your channels and rescan them.

I think a single screenshot of the "TV Channels" section showing the channel name and channel number columns (you probably have to increase the width of the window) would be enough. I'm simply interested to check your channels have all been assigned the correct channel numbers.

Thanks, mm, that did the trick. I deleted all channels, rescanned, and changed channel numbers from the default "10000" to the actual channel number. Then restarted server and everything is good.

I really appreciate all your help.

Major Service Change coming to Schedules Direct
We have been informed that our data source: Gracenote (formerly Tribune Media Services) will be ending the guide data service currently used by most SD members. Their plan is to end support for this service on November 1, 2014.

Thankfully there is no need to panic, as Schedules Direct was already hard at work implementing a more modern JSON-based service using newer/better data feeds from TMS, as well as a service similar to the current method.

If you are an application developer, please come up with a plan for your users. If you are an end user, please be give your developers time to develop a plan.

Pass. The SD plugin is a third party plugin. Team MediaPortal does not maintain or develop it.
