How to setup PowerScheduler (1 Viewer)

I need help setting up Power Scheduler and Power Scheduler Client Plugin.

My goal is that my computer only goes to hibernate if I´m in MP Homescreen.
It should wake up only for scheduled recordings.

I know, this sounds easy, and it all worked well on XP but on Vista my PC hibernates for example if I´m writing a lette r in Word or something while MP is not runing (and is not in Homescreen !!!).

My major question is:
Do I have to enable the function - "Shutdown Server after being idle for xx minutes" in Power Scheduler Conf. of the TV Server ?
If I disable it my PC never (aswell not in Homescreen) hibernates !?

I found this line in MediaPortal.log

"PowerScheduler: detected a singleseat setup - delegating suspend/hibernate requests to tvserver"

Does this mean the Power Scheduler Client Plugin doesn´t do anything ? And everything is managed by TV-Server ?

If yes, this would explain why my PC doesn´t hibernate when:
"Shutdown Server after being idle for xx minutes" in Power Scheduler Conf. of TV Server is disabled.

Do I have to use the "old" Power Scheduler of MediaPortal (instead of the client plugin) when I´m on a single seat setup ?

Hi MediaTobiPortal,

Have you enabled the plugin in TVServer? There is another setting there for the timeout before suspending.

I can confirm that I have seen the same behaviour as MediaTobiPortal.

My setup was fine in XP Pro SP2 but under Windows Vista the HTPC hibernates after 5 minutes, even though you may be using Windows.

One way I believe to stop it is to have the MediaPortal configuration program running while you work in Windows as I think this is included on the list of processes that will prevent standby/hibernation by default.

Mew: I´m happy I finally found someone with the same problem.
You are right, while configuration.exe or any other process in the list is running no standby/hibernate will happen.
But having to run a selected process all the time, only to keep your PC alive isn´t very nice, is it ?

I remember, that in XP PowerScheduler recognized user activity. It seems as it doesn´t in Vista.

In my opinion this is a bug, but I posted it long time ago and nobody seems to be interested.....
