Which bit are you finding hard.

Overwrite the old WebEPG config with the one above, now open it up, press import with TVServer selected as source, all TV and Radio channels will be imported (personally delete radio channels using remove button.

    sshot-1.png

So you should have above, now select Automap with your country selected.

    sshot-2.png

Now you should have something like this, see the errors, you will need to change these.
Now select BBC One and go to the Channel button on the right, click on the browse button, this will open a new screen showing Web Sites, now expand and select your Country ie. United Kingdom, i slect radiotimes as my source, but its whichever you prefer

    sshot-3.png

I now double click on BBC1 Northwest for my area, now this will show next to BBC ONE in the main config, do not close the small screen, click on next channel BBC TWO and repeat above action.

You need to do this for every channel and then select the save button when completed.

Ok you have the channels within WebEPG, now run the WebEPG.exe, depending on how many channels you have is how long it takes to complete the TVGuide.xml that is produced in the xmltv folder.

Now we have the file (which needs to be in the same folder as the xmltv.dtd file, there on xp, not vista by default)

You need to enable the TVServer config\plugins\xmltv, select the path your TVGuide.xml is in (default is c:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\xmltv), i found had to use a -1 time correction for uk.

Now go to the second page of the xmltv plugin named mappings, click the refresh button, here it will show any errors to your mapping and allow corrections to be made, once done save.
You can now return to the first screen and press the import button.

If you need to set this all up to update automatically then you need the bit in powerscheduler and MP config WebEPG plugin to be co-ordinated.

    Had enough now :)

Pictures for the last bit, and maybe a better explaination.

When you have done all this BACKUP your WebEPG\Channels folder, so hopefully you will not lose these settings on a reinstall.

Thanks for you explanation but I have done all of this with help from the wiki page (because I think it was reasonably clear) but still I have some channels that show the same program information as one other channel (RTL 4,5,8 same program as RTL7 and nederland 3 has no programs at all). Most likely is that the grabber files contain incorrect information for the dutch viewers and I don't know how to correct these since I have no experience what so ever in programming.

    best regards,

PD, I eventually got it working :D - my only problem is when the xmltv plugin imports the tvguide.xml a few channels are missing program info on the tv guide (the info is in the tvguide.xml). A question, where is the new TVDatabaseV21.db3 stored, mine is only 184kb after importing a 6 meg tvguide.xml?

If using TVServer, its in the sql db.

Does all the info show ok.

Only problem i have ever had, is it shows Sat info not freeview, so a channel that may start\stop transmitting say at 6pm is available 24hrs by satellite.

Have to remember not to record a dummy show :)

I get to the TV server bit - when I press the 'refresh' button I get
    "No TV-Channes available to map"
    :(
(I had done all the prior steps before and got to this point, only to fail)

I must point out I HAVE NO TV CARD - I just want the EPG 'cos it's better (and MUCH more reliable) than the one on cable.

LOL that's why it will not work at all, unless there is a way of making a pseudo (is that spelt right) TVCard to map the channels too, cannot see it able to do it.

Seriously, anyone has a possible answer to this, theory just points me to database of any description and if no card mapped to channels, it will not show up in MP.

    :sorry:

There is a dummy card for the radio channels - can this not be copied for the TV channels too??
    the 0.2.3.0 version worked fine!

I'm getting a weird error occurring when using webEPG and xmltv plugin for TVServer 1.

The import works perfectly and I get all the data into MediaPortal, as soon as I open MediaPortal I can see the populated epg. But moments later all channels have "No Data Available" and there is an error from an xmltv import - even though one is not scheduled and there is no way I could do a manual import.

I've attached screenshots of before and after in xmltv plugin and also logs of a typical scenario:
    • Import xmltv
    • Open MediaPortal
    • Via full epg
    • Watch channel for short time (< 1 minute)
    • Go back to empty EPG

Please help I am stumped as to what is causing this rogue import and why it fails?!

Thanks James, the new update grabs my channels now from TV Server - been scratching my head about this for 2 days =)
    Much appreciated...
