that you've uninstalled directvobsub might BE the problem (the mkv playback part that is).. check the mediaportal logs.. i've had this happen to me also.. somehow mediaportal tries to add it to the graph, fails, and dies a horrible horrible death :p

    Hi,

I have an Antec Fusion HTPC using the CybrDisplay External Status Plugin which works great.

The trouble is I used to use the 'message on shut down' which worked fine when I shutdown the HTPC with my Harmony remote. To save a few pennies I now want to simply turn the display off on shutdown. You'd think you'd use the blank display on exit option, but that only works if you close Mediaportal and then shut down the PC.

The harmony remote simply shuts down your PC, closing the application as part of the process but this doesn't seem to allow the pluging time to perform the blanking process and therefore I'm left with the last display that was showing when I shut down the PC.

Anyone else know a way around this or has this working? I've tried the monitor power state option but it didn't make a difference.

    Thanks

The problem I run into there is that even if I turn autoload off for vsfilter I find that if there are subtitles it still shows them and breaks hardware acceleration as well.

The only solution was to get rid of directvobsub/vsfilter altogether.

Ok, so I tried registering propage.dll but still nothing comes up after I select the graph.

And it looks like the problem totally related to hardware acceleration because if I turn off hardware acceleration for the PDVD decoder in MP Config the same problem videos that don't play (either the just drop me back to the menu or give me a blank screen) play fine with it off.

    No idea....

Also checked the log and it's not trying to load directvobsub. The graph appears to get built fine but I get no video.

    Hi,

I noticed that you have very similar keyboard as I have. I was just thinking, have you been able to reconfigure those special mce keys to work with MediaPortal?

    booris,

    pls. try to enable

Configuration->Remote->Microsoft MCE->Use MCE remote or keyboard

    or

    Configuration->Remote->General HID->Use General HID device

    Cheers

Hi, and thanks for your response!

Unfortunately, it made no difference. Basic buttons like play, volume, mute, next/previous do work as well as mail button (opens Windows mail) Home page (opens IE) and favorites (opens IE Favorites) However, for example MCE, live tv, epg etc. buttons have no effect.

Earlier, those keys opened Vista Media Center, as they are supposed to do in default configuration. However, I would like to make those keys to work with MediaPortal. What I have done so far is that I disabled mc from the local group policy, as was suggested in some other thread.

This is not the most important feature, more like "cool to have" things and as you seem to have similar keyboard, just wanted to ask if you have found some solution to this. I've tried to search this forum, as well as around google but seems to be very little help as this is rf device, not ir.

    Happy holidays!

If this keyboard is running as an hid device, you could try to modify the "appkey" in the keys in the registry. If you google appkey and vista, you'll get a few examples. This used to be done by the powertoy tweakui, but it does not work for vista. I think the registry entries from xp could give you clues though. here

be careful whenever you modify the registry.

I almost have the same setup as you except that I have the Antec micro fusion 350 case. I just installed everything for Christmas day. The only problem I am having now is with the audio. I am tryimg to pass my audio through my hdmi connection... Besides that everythimg seems to be working perfectly... Any ideas how to fix this?

P.S. I donot have an audio receiver; i am just trying to pass it directly to my TV.
