HTPCInfo plugin for MediaPortal v0.6.0

Hi community,
a new version of this plugin is available and offers new properties and functionalities.
  • Gauges for Processor, Memory and Disks
  • Support for up to 5 harddisks
  • some new properties to display important things easier

Important information for users:
  • Due to changes to harddisk configuration, please install the plugin and reassign the harddisks in the configuration dialog before.
  • Attached to this post you can find an example for a gauge screen. If anyone want to create a new gauge layout, please post this here. Later I want to publish these gauge collection as part of a HTPCInfo customization pack.

Important informations for skinners:
  • Because of functionality changes regarding harddisks, some old properties (DriveFreeSpace1stHarddisk, DriveName1stHarddisk, DriveSize1stHarddisk, DriveType1stHarddisk, DriveFreeSpace2ndHarddisk, DriveName2ndHarddisk, DriveSize2ndHarddisk, DriveType2ndHarddisk) are obsolete now and will be replaced by standardized properties. These old properties will be supported only until the next major release. For more informations, see also the attached documentation.

Cheers, Micropolis ;-)

I have a minor issue using a tv server setup with this plugin.

It does not show me the tv cards from external clients, makes sense though but can that somehow be resolved?
I do use ForTheRecord, might also be a cause though.
The tv server itself can see the card just fine in HTPCInfo

HTPCInfo plugin for MediaPortal v0.6.1

Hi joz,
actually only the 1st TV card is monitored, this is a known limitation. Because of this, you cannot see the complete TV hardware equipment.
The implementation to see all TV cards is not complicated, but as a result of this some properties like "#HTPCInfo.TVCard*" must be changed to "#HTPCInfo.TVCard<digit>*". This would mean that existing skin files must be customized again.
Ok, a possible solution: I can change the source code and introduce the new properties, the old properties will be supported until the next major release. Then you (and all other skinners) has enough time to change/release a new version of the HTPCInfo skin file. What do you think about this?

Cheers, Micropolis ;-)

Sorry I think I explained it wrong, another shot;

I have a tv server, which has one TV card (though dual tuner) in it. The MP clients all use that card, streaming across network.
The TV server shows the card in HTPCInfo, all the clients show nothing.

Maybe there's just no way for the clients to "know" which card is in the server though. It's not a big deal anyways.

p.s.

I adjusted the skinfiles I did a bit for HTPCInfo (for example incorporating the gauges). They are part of my 16:10 ports.

HTPCInfo plugin for MediaPortal v0.6.1

Hi joz,
Ok, now I understand the following constellation: HTPCInfo shows your 1st TV Card on your "server" correctly, your clients (where HTPCInfo is also installed) cannot see the "server" TV card.
To find a solution for this, I can check the MediaPortal TVServer API. Actually I don't know exactly, wether the API supports this. But this could also be result of the above-described limitation. I'll give a feedback, please be patient.

Cheers, Micropolis ;-)

Yep that's exactly what I meant.

Do not be spending too much time on this, it would be nice if it was able to do it but ofcourse I can easily live without it too.
