Ok, good news. Problem solved.
On CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file I had to change the dual P7131 tag to match my deviceId. Works fine now!

Have the same card, but it still don't work for me..

Can you please say step by step what you did to make it work?

I have vista ultimate 32bit. And it doest work either in Media center...

when i scan for channels in MP i see al my analog channels, but when i try preview or start TV, i get "Failed: NoVideo/AudioDetected"

That's strange,
I'm pretty certain that if you use the tv server then the capture card definitions file is no longer needed.
When you are configuring the system, are you scanning for channels in the separate TV server config application, or the TV channels section in MediaPortal config itself?

Is i possible you have configured the cards in two places?
This could explain some of the issues you have been having.

Hello

Here it goes:

1) Remove TV Server.
2) On document settings/allusers/Application Data/MediaPortal edit the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file.
3) Save a backup copy of CaptureCardDefinitions.xml
3) Search for P7131 Card Definitions tag. On device id change the value to match the Hardware device id obtained on Windows Device Manager (sound, video and game controllers).
4) Save
5) start MediaPortal Setup
6) On TV settings, add a card.

If everything works fine, your card should be detected.

Hello,

TV Server detects TVCard and scans with sucess all TV channels, but when I go to TV server management control , on TV Channels option, the preview simply don´t work. I get the error "Preview failed: No VideoAudiodetected".
I´ve remove TV Server and changed CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file to match my card HW device id.

I dont know why, but TV Server never worked with this card....

I was scanning only on TV Server Setup. The TV Channels were detected and the database filled. Channel Table was filled with all channels detected during the channel scan. However, on Tunningdetail table, the field frequency was filled with "0" for all channels. I believe this was the problem.
After a channel scan, the preview always get the error:"Preview failed:NoVideoAudiodetected"

I have a Asus P7131 but I believe that yours definitions for this card are wrong (this card supports radio for instance). Only P7131 dual definitions with a modified deviceid worked for me.

When you remove TV Server, the mediaportal TV Setup on Mediaportal Configuration changes.
Then you don´t have TV Server Setup and the card setup issues are added to MediaPortal Configuration tool.

Oh

Didn't know that... I read that there were many problems with asus 7131 on Vista,
so I just removed Vista and made a fresh XP SP3 install...

Hope this, and your help will put me out of this misery

I have XP with SP3.
I don´t know the behavior on Vista. But, if Powercinema 5 works ...The problem should be on MP configuration.
That was my thougth....My card always worked fine with Powercinema 5 (This software cames with the card).
If works with Powercinema, the problem should not be SO or drivers.
Has to be on MP configuration...

My XP SP3 is installed, and also my powerdvd 5 (from install cd)
Powerdvd finds channels and is working like it should be..
Lets hope it works now on Mediaportal..

Is it the P7131 card ,or the P7131 Dual card (the one you have) ??
Is it also Analog Cable TV you use??

I think i did something wrong in the "Capturecarddefinitions.xml", Don't know sure...
Can you send me your CaptionCardDefinions.xml-file??

I have the P7131 card with Analog Cable TV (Portugal Zon TV). But on CaptureCardDefinitions.xml I've changed P7131 dual device id because that is the one that work better for me and which definitions are more compatible with the card.
I intend to make more tests, but, without change anything else on this file, the P7131 dual is the one with parameters more compatible with the card.

That´s why I believe that TV Server crashes. Because, on TV Server you cannot change the parameters by XML ( Or I don´t know how to do that...MarcusB ?) and the parameters of this card apparently are wrong.
But I´ve not finished my MP Setup. I can see TV but I still have problems with Radio Setup....I haven´t dedicated time on that yet

I've finished the TVBx setup (EPG grabber on a country which TV Channels don´t publish Electronic TV Guide on XML is a headache. We have to parse web content and convert to XML... ( )

Do you see the channels?
