We still need to investigate this further though:

1. Imon reverst to default(imon pad) when system shuts down. If it were possible to avoid this we're able to turn on our htpc with MCE remote as it's working for the imon pad.
2. Need to test this with MP plugin.
3. And to test it with minidisplay running in MP

More updates:
The problem with MP reverting to default is now fixed. And the minidisplay.dll is fixed. So now it's possible to use MCE remote in Mediaportal with Minidisplay running. Despite that we investigate Irss, because it seems to turn on the display. This causes MP to turn off the display and the Irss just lights it up.
And we're having a problem with the back key on MCE remote, nothing working as ESC in mediaportal.

Maybe i've discovered a bug in the translator. I wanted to map the "eject button" to the function to open my drive. Translator->System Wide->Misc->Command->Eject CD-> Set -> Choose Drive -> and it says "Eject g:\"
When i try to press ok it says that "You must click SET to confirm the command..." and i cannot assign that function to the key.

Insert the Eject CD command into a macro, then assign the macro to the button.
I know this is an ugly workaround, but at least it works.

Will solve this when no other "real" problems left.

The log file for Irss is showing "no imon device found"

I can't work out why, the imon pad is working like a mouse and wont switch. imon software is installed and not running and irss is running. I've tried both service and app modes.

The only thing I can think of is that the hardware id of my device is not recognized.

Attached is a brief hound log, with the imon software active.

Let me know if you want more details. I've used a couple of different imon manager builds, I am currently on the latest build.

You are right, your HW ID is new to us.
Right now, we know those HW IDs:

"Vid_15c2&Pid_003c", "Vid_15c2&Pid_0038", "Vid_15c2&Pid_0036"

As I can read in your logs, you have an "older" device (VID_15C2&PID_0035).
I will add basic support for this HW ID, what means that the plugin should recognize it, but I'm pretty sure that it won't (fully) work in this first try. We will have to do intensive trying and testing.

Would you like to help me in making this device working?

Yeah I can and would like to help. Unfortunately I work long hours, but I'm sure we can find some good time to work this out.

After hours of preparing for remote debugging, 1stdead and I really quickly figured out, that there is an issue between iMON Device Vid_15c2&Pid_0038 with firmware 380102 and Microsofts Direct Input technology.

The symptom: iMON display lights up when IR Server starts or when IR Server Configuration Dialog opens.

The ugly workaround: Remove "Direct Input Receiver.*" from "%ProgramFiles%\IR Server Suite\IR Server Plugins" directory.
To be able to remove the files IR Server must be shut down and Configuration Dialog must be closed.

If you have another firmware or another iMON device suffering from this issue, please also try this suggestion and report your device details here in this thread.

I will try to fix this issue in a more convenient way.

Is IRSS the remote plugin that is used inside MP default? When i installed the latest beta+svn on Win7, i thought i had everything configured, but then i realized that channel +/- buttons didn't work. I went to the iMon software to check the configuration of those buttons, and then i realized that the only thing that was configured was mediaportal.exe, but no buttons. Has the built in MP support for iMon been heavily improved lately, or what causes this?

Oh man,

you don't have any idea of IRSS, do you?

IRSS is not THE plugin for MP, it is a program suite which HAS a plugin for MP.
This beeing said, you can (and should) use IRSS !INSTEAD! of iMON Manager.

But keep in mind that iMON Manager still needs to be installed (but not running) for your display (if you have one) to work.

ok, what is the benefits of that? iv'e recently updated to the latest version of iMon and it works great... (Not being rude, just curious)
