Importer kind of slow (5-10 min/movie) (1 Viewer)

Hey guys,

I used the Moving Pictures plugin before and everything worked fine. This was some months ago on another system.
Now I want to rebuild the movie database (using the Importer) on my new system. The basic "problem" is, that the retrival of the details per movie takes about five to ten minutes. I tried it yesterday and today - same (slow) result....
As far as I remember the Importer worked much faster in the past. Maybe it's the online-source or something like that (bandwidth throttled) and perfectly normal.
Simple question: Is it normal or am I doing something wrong? :)

Thx for any help!

Thx for your fast reply!

I checked the log. There a only two kinds of error-messages:

Code:
02-Sep-2010 18:19:17 Error [ WebGrabber]: Connection failed: URL=http://www.impawards.com/2008/body_of_lies.html, Status=Forbidden, Description=Forbidden.
(many more)

and

Code:
02-Sep-2010 18:25:39 Error [ FileBasedResource]: Failed downloading resource from: http://hwcdn.themoviedb.org/posters/1ee/4bc937c0017a3c57fe0171ee/body-of-lies-original.jpg. Reached retry limit of 10
02-Sep-2010 18:25:39 Error [ FileBasedResource]: Failed downloading cover art for "Body of Lies": http://hwcdn.themoviedb.org/posters/1ee/4bc937c0017a3c57fe0171ee/body-of-lies-original.jpg
(many more)

Both kinds of messages are all over the logfile.

Any idea? :)

I experienced the same thing, it took almost 6 hours to import my movie collection (~250 movies)
I am currently not at home, so I can not provide any log files now :sorry:

I'm experiencing the same issue as well.

The attached logfiles are created with mediaportal on debugging mode. running the import process from within the mediaportal configuration. (because of this, a mediaportal.log doesn't exists, I added the Configuration.log though.)
Unfortunate I couldn't find the "Data Source Manager Enhanced Debug Mode" option.

The moment the logs were zipped the import process was on 11/99 movies after 1 hour and 15 minutes.

The same is happening to me.. The old version used to work fine, but I put a new HD in my system and reinstalled, now it crawls through the movies taking about 10 mins each at least! I don't have any log files at the moment because I've just uninstalled it all so I can reinstall in the hope this fixes it! :)

No joy after a reinstall but my logs seem to be showing the same as the other guys where its failed downloading an image from themoviedb.org after 10 retries.. I put the latest Moving Pictures on as I was using StreamedMP with 1.0.6 on previously and this hasn't made any difference, maybe its a problem with themoviedb? It seemed to pick up the first 50 or so films fairly quickly then after that slow down to a crawl.
