TV-Server Version: RC3
MediaPortal Version: RC3
MediaPortal Skin: Blue3
Windows Version: XP SP3
CPU Type: AMD Daul Core 4850e 2.50GHz
1. TV Card: Hauppauge PVR-150-MCE
1. TV Card Type: Analog
2. TV Card: Hauppauge PVR-150-MCE

Hello everyone. I am new to MediaPortal and the forums. I have been using an HTPC (running MCE 2005 and then VMC) for about 2 years now, though, and have gone through the trials and errors of setting this up, so I am familiar with most of the concepts.

I apologize if this has been posted elsewhere, but I have searched these forums and can't seem to find a definitive answer.

This is my issue:

I am trying to setup TV Server for analog stb capture via s-video. I have successfully installed the program and can see video from both of my cards on SVHS#1. I have also setup xmltv to create the tvguide.xml file with all of my channel listings. And I have even got the TVBlaster3 program working to change channels on my stb.

The issue at this stage is that I cannot figure out how to import my channel listings from xmltv. I found a couple of very old posts in the forums that say you have to add each channel manually in the TV Server configuration, but I cannot believe that people are manually entering 500+ channels when there is a handy xml file that lists them all ready and waiting. Can anyone please help me with this issue (or confirm that manual entry is the only way right now)?

so ehh what you try to say or ask here ? how to get the tvguide.xml into the database ?

    put the tvguide.xml in the c:/programfiles/team mediaportal/mediaportal tv server/

then make an empty text file and rename this to tvguide.lst and put that also there

in tv server config goto plugins and enable xmltv

now go there and tick import files in new tvguide.lst

goto second tab mappings and tick partial match and then load/refresh

match all programs you have there..

goto first tab and press import and wait a bit.. it takes a while for a week of data.
no need to restart anything it just works when it does...

channels you can export in the tv-channels tab export button.

Sry, should have explained this better. I am trying to populate the list of channels in the "TV Channels" section of the tv server config. I can add channels manually by clicking the "add" button, but it would take forever to add all of the channels I get through my stb.

Under the xmltv plugin -> settings, if I do an import of my tvguide.xml file it says "total channels imported: 296". But those channels don't show up under the "TV Channels" section of the main config. Also, if I try to import the tvguide.xml file in tv channels, it says it found 0 channels.

that uses different xml then the xmltv xml file. wont work coz it uses channelnames and not frequencies/channels
the only way i think is to find someone who have set this up allready and send you the xml file or scanning channels from the pc directly.
you only have to setup once since you can export the xml.. this xml also changed between version RC2 and RC3 if im correct so that would make it a real pain in the ass.. :(

Auto import xmltv to stb channel source

    That can't be real?!

Could this feature be asked as some kind of "wishlist" for the developers?

I always though the pvr-150 + stb + xmltv was the most commom htpc setup...
