    Hi Owlsroost,

this version does not pre-allocate the timeshift files.
I trust that the original pre-allocation came with some idea in mind. What are the drawbacks when not pre-allocating files now?[/user]

    TEsted yesterday the last bin.

Big issue for me ... but don't know if it's due to the TSwritter or my system.
i don't have the logs for now.

    what is the result :

The LiveTV stop like @Palm_Maniac explain :
The sound is cut off and the Vidéo lock on last vidéo frame.
must change channel and back to the previous.

Yesterday, i will revert fastly to the previous version ( WAF issue ), because watching Harry Potters .
but the small lock was always present, but less than with the new bin.
And i suspect the DVB EPG, because i have set it to "Disabled" for my DVB-T channel only, and all was fine after that. at least on DVB-T, not tested the DVB-S
i don't have logs. to send i hope in the evening.

I need the logs please from when it stops working to find out what is going wrong... ;) (the TV server log folder today will also have the logs for yesterday, so just zip that up and attach it here).

Pre-allocation should in theory stop the files getting badly fragmented, and also means you know you have enough drive space available to hold the entire file *before* you start writing to it.

I suspect the 'timeshift stop' problem Palm Maniac & azzuro are getting now is due to running out of drive space as the file is being written (but I need the logs to find out for sure).

In my case timeshifting takes place on a RamDisk.

Right, this is where I feel uneasy. We had a discussion with mm about the use of such files when making full use of the available space and then new streams come along (you participated, didn't you?). I am wondering if one would run into issues when using your alernative version in combination with timeshift files on a RamDisk

and i don't remember, i think MP2 Server was run too. but all stuff related to SlimTv are removed.
So except the NFOImporter, i don't know, who can do the bug.
but for next test, the MP2-service will be Off.
