Hey I would like to say I love this plugin! It is really great and a great addition to MP. I do have a few problems though that I can't quite figure out. I clicked the button in the MY-TVseries for checking my folder automatically but when I record a program it is not within the database inside Mediaportal. I have yet to check the tv-series config, but I didnt know if I was missing something for an automatic import. Also, when I used the plugin for the first time I had older shows I had recorded (I did a fresh install) and tv-series scanned and put them into the database but the episode information is incorrect. The tvshow in question is syndicated now, and I picked aired when tv-series asked me about it(it said aired was the default over absolute) I dont know if this has anything to do with it or not. I would appreciate any help I can get on this. Thanks.

So are you saying that TVseries didnt pick up new files created in your import paths? Try creating a dummy file while the plugin is open (in MediaPortal), then check the log file to see if it magically picks it up e.g. Create a text file and rename it to Lost s01e01.avi.

If you have the wrong information confirm first that TVSeries picked up the correct series, season and episode information from the local filename and that information is also correct in the online database thetvdb.com

Wel I tried your text suggestion. Within my recordings folder I made a text fie called Lost S01 E03 and nothing new appeared on my tv series. I have also recorded new shows today and they have not appeared either. I checked the website to see if season information was correct and it is. I believe that the episodes are labeled correctly because MP's TV service can identify them correctly within the recorded TV tab. I have one thing that I think might be something within the details tab of the TVseries config, above the banner information mine says database location (restart needed). I dont know if that means anything. Thanks for the quick reply by the way.

(restart needed) is only for when you change the database path.

So have you checked the Parsing Test just below the Import Paths in Configuration? The only reason TVSeries cant pick it up is if the parsing fails. Recording TV has nothing to do with TVseries so what you see there doesnt actually mean anything.

The option for 'checking my folder automatically...' is basically a monitoring service when TVseries is running with-in MediaPortal which monitors your import paths for changes and automatically imports them without needing to shutdown and restart.

Im trying to understand what your problem is, is it failing to import automatically when you drop new files in or just manual import is failing (ie click start import in Config or restart MediaPortal)?

My problem is failing to import automatically. I have "Check my folder automatically..." ticked, so I know that isnt the problem. I am not sure what you mean by checked the Parsing Test. Below my import paths in config I have "string replacement" "Parsing expressions" "manual import" but string replacement and parsing expressions do not have a "check" button I can hit. If you are talking about me manually doing this than I am a bit lost. I sont really know how to do parsin. Sorry.

EDIT: OK I think I might have explanied this wrong so I will try again. I am trying to record TV from MP TV server and have it put into a folder called TV recordings. I also told MP-TVSeries that this is the folder to update shows from. So I thought that if I recorded something new than it would go into said folder and then MP-TVSeries would recognize it and update automatically. It is not doing this. I am wondering if there is something I can change in MP TV server config, in the recording tab, where I can pick how to recording is labeled i.e. %title% - %episode% etc. I hope this helps with understanding what I am trying to do. Sorry if there was any confusion.
