    Unfortunately there were some changes made in Windows 8.1 that affect USB communication. These changes negatively affect our drivers for the USB infiniTV. Due to these changes and problems we have chosen not to support Windows 8/8.1 with the infiniTV USB. However, many of our customers have been able to successfully use the USB model with Windows 8 itself, but not 8.1. If Windows 8 is a must for you then we would definitely recommend downgrading back to Windows 8 from 8.1.

    So, it looks like you can safely use W7 or W8, but if you try to update to W8.1 or W10 then you'll have issues. That seems to be confirmed in this thread on Ceton's website:

    My apologies. I should have said they had an installer package for Windows 8. I did try both of the beta driver installers, but neither one of them would run under my version of Windows 10, even on the Windows 7 or 8 compatibility settings. So it looks like I'm confined to either Linux or sending the tuner back for a refund.
