Installation Problem - No TVServer GUI appears (1 Viewer)

Hi

Tried to install the TVServer on a new PC. (tvengine3-01-21-2007--08-22h--Rev12685)

Read the Wiki and watched also the videos. Nice made ! No problem to follow the instrurctions.

Now I have Problem after Installing the TV-Server. I get the first time install popup how to connect the db. The test and save will also work fine.


But then I get no GUI to configure the TV-Server.

Instead I get a Popup with the following Text: "The TV service is not running, shoul I start the tvservice" Yes/No

Yes will no change the situation but start a additional setuptv.exe process.

The Account SA works fine in sql server management studio. I can also see that the databases were defined.

In eventmanager i can see, that there must be some Problems with the permissions of this account:

Seems Gentle.Framework.dll is missing in this build.

In which release i can find this dll ?

Installed an old version (tvengine3-01-16-2007--01-15h--Rev12640.zip)

With this version it works !

Gentle.Framework.dll exists

Copied Gentle.Framework.dll form an old Version.
Seems to work.

GUI does not appear

I've had the same problem. Started today with installing mediaportal and the tvengine, but couldn't get the gui to display.

Looking in the windows event log, all i saw was this error:
Service cannot be started. System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Gentle.Framework, Version=1.2.9.18134, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
File name: 'Gentle.Framework, Version=1.2.9.18134, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'
at TvService.TVController.Init()
at TvService.TVController..ctor()
at TvService.Service1.OnStart(String[] args)


Finally i discovered that gentle.framework the error is refering to is a ddl file. This ( and other gentle dll's ) is installed by default in de mediaportal directory instead of the 'mediaportal tvengine' install directory. I ran install again, selected the directory where the tv engine was installed and started the setup. The service now starts without a problem and the gui appears!

No it doesn't find any channels on my wintv-pvr500, but i'm sure i'll get it to work
