Installing on Xp Pro 64 bit (1 Viewer)

Has anyone gotten Paul's method working in the newer version of media portal, 1.0.1? I have gotten it working with 1.0.0 but when I try the same method for the new version, the media portal executable is not in the same place. Curious to see if anyone has it working....

Yes I have it working no problem, i just browsed to the executable in the deploy folder. make sure you install the mediaportal exe before the tvserver exe.

When I look in the folder, I only have the executables from a month ago when I first installed 1.0.0 aswell as a new vcredist2008 executable.

EDIT: I renamed the old deploy folder and allowed it to create a new one, and now I have the files. When I try to run the media portal installation, it asks whether I want to uninstall the old version first. Did you uninstall or choose to do nothing? I was hoping by doing nothing it would just 'upgrade' the installation and keep all my settings and music/video database. Can you give me any info about this?

No I uninstalled 1.0.0 and did a clean install of 1.0.1.

I tried to install MP 1.1.1 this way but it still complaints and refuses to install.

1. I downloaded 1.1.1
2. I extracted the files in the installer.
3. I used the compatibility toolkit as described in the "package-mediaportal.exe" in the "deploy" folder. (I could not set os to none since none is not an option, I just did not check the os selection at all wich should be the same as 'none'.)

But it just result in my os not being supported.

Any other way? any change you guys just compile a x64 version for xp someday?

quite sad this, really i mean if you have to go and buy a new licence to run mp is it not just encouraging people to use the windows media center?
also the installer seems to insist on sp3 for xp as well, means a lot of haup users wont easily get their remotes working. pushing them towards winmce as well.
a command line option to suppress version checking would be nice for advanced users.

Trying to install MP 123 on XP x64 SP2.

Used Application Compatibility using XPx86 SP2 mode but it does not work.

Any more tips or do I have to deploy the installation manually?

1.0.1 was the last version i managed to get installed, gives a few error mesgs but works ok'ish

If not possible any hints to file/folder structure in which to deploy files manually?
