    Hi!

This is a new feature in PowerScheduler++ plugin. The Ping Monitor is enabled only on the TV server. This feature is proposed in multiseat environment where the TV server is a file server or it hosts any not MediaPortal related functions.

    Jira issue MP1-4290

    GIT branch

In this feature you can set up some hosts to ping from TV server. Any active hosts will prevent to sleep the TV server. The ping cycle are 30 secs.

    How to setup

    1. Open SetupTV.exe.
    2. Select PowerScheduler plugin.
    3. Go to Ping Monitor tab.
    4. Add at least one host name or IP number to the list.
    5. Check if the active host can or can't prevent to go the TV server to standby.

    Feedback

Upload the TV server log if you have any issue. Please report if you have any performance issue on the client side. In this case upload the client log too.

    Change log

    V1 (2013.11.27): PS_V1.zip
    V2 (2013.12.10): PS_V2.zip asynchronous pinging
    MediaPortalSetup_1.7_Pre_Release_PS++.zip (2014.02.18)

Nice feature. I have downloaded it and will give feedback.
    My scenario:
My TV-Server hosts MPExtended to. When I stream a movie or a recording to one of my android devices this streaming is not recognized (known bug in MPExtended).
Because of this I do not allow the server to go to standby the most time of the day. Together with this I can reduce this not going to standby time.
I hope I can start to watch a movie and the server stays online as long as my android devices are logged into my WLAN or VPN.

If your android device can reply to "ping" it will prevent to sleep your server. You need to reserve the ip address for android device in your router/dhcp server.

I have checked this. Ping works. IPs of the devices are leased until ever.
