To all of you experiencing stuttering and problems with DXVA and so on, it's really hard for all of us to guess your setup, installed codecs and so on. I've not seen any logs what so ever so far and they would make things a bit easier for everyone to help you.

Stuttering, sync problems and most other things are related to either bad drivers, codec conflicts or bad settings in the gfx control panel to name a few.

no way viggo. Such as Dannydeman with subtitle ON we got random stuttering (say again imho when sub disapper, this could be a good trick), without subtitle not. even no problem with ffdshow subtitle and the same filtergraph (splliter, decoding, renderer and so on and with same filtegraph but in mpc -HC player)
so the issue is related to this plugin. unfortunately it's hard to replicate .
I'm Delphi and .net developer I know this is a really huge problem to find out and so fix it.

this short footage is very usefull for me to test the issue

4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download CSI.Miami.S07E14.720p-001.zip

when the two cops enter in the house approaching the small path around 30-31 s there's a stuttering
(when "forse lo farò" sub disappear/ "maybe I will")

It is not about bad drivers, since I only have it with this patch in Mediaportal. In the MPC-HC player, everything is as it should. Also, when the subtitles are disabled it doesn't happen. If I have time, I try to record a video of it, so you can see it with and without subtitles. The movie "I Robot 1080P/DTS/DXVA is the one I test it with". As for now, I'm forced to use MPC-HC as external player, which I don't like since the forwarding sucks :)

But this patch isn't finished, so I still have hope :)

I also have this stuttering problems only with this patch. I mean:

    - with patch installed and DXVA activated it stutters (even with no subtitles activated)
    - without patch installed and DXVA (so without subtitles) it does not stutter
    - without patch installed and with directvobsub postprocessing for subtitles (so without DXVA) it does not stutter

This with ATI 9.3 drivers, ATI 3450 card. The problem is only with H.264 mkv movies. XVID files work without problems.

Tell me what logs do I have to post and I will do it (or I will post the complete logs from watchdog).

It might be pre-buffering, since it looks like it happens when its about to load a subtitle on to the screen.
It also reminds me that this MPC-HC subtitle patch is kinda different then it is in MPC-HC itself. Which is logical though. btw I tried it with 8.12, the official dell ATI driver (it's 8.46 I think), 9.1, 9.2, 9.3 and 9.4. All have the same problem.

I'm thinking of upgrading to Windows 7 build 7077, maybe it makes a difference. I will try that later this week, don't have to much time atm :)

For those with stuttering problems and using evr renderer, please try vmr9 and report your results.

Its definatly pre-buffering the subs so that may be causing the issue I duno.
Running an ATI 4870 (9.4 drivers) on Vista 64 with EVR and have no problems

I'm thinking out loud here but anyway...

All of you who seems to have problems with stuttering, from what I can see you all have an ATI Radeon 3xxx-series...?

Maybe this can have something to do, with the performance of the card, since DXVA uses GPU + the memory on the graphics-card and
the renderer also does that and this patch is somehow connected to the renderer......

Maybe altogether it demands to much of the hardware (drivers....?). . . .

the problem is also in software decoding mode. I'm talking about mkv 24p x264 decoded by CoreAvc, raw video to ffdshow and so the to renderer (evr). splitter matroska. last reclock as audio renderer . monitor refresh 50HZ , playing by reclock to 25 fps. terratec aureon 7.1 with cmedia chip 8768+ encode the mch. pcm (decoded by ffdshow audio from original dd to pcm) to new dolby digital stream through sppd/if.
anyway in dxva mode the cpu take 2-3% with an Ati 3850.
Stuttering is annoying but I mean I'm searching for the "ultimate perfect" smooth play so I notice for this. Maybe most of MP users are fastidious I guess.
