    Hi,

I record TV from freeview (DVB) using .TS rather than .MPG.

For a little while now, I've noticed that sometimes when I click on a recording to play it, nothing happens. I have to quit MediaPortal, start it again and then the recording will play.

It seems to happen more often when I have played one recording, then stopped it manually.

Is anyone else seeing this? I have noticed it with RC2, RC3 and several SVNs. I use MPV/MPA as codecs.

I will try to get some logs if this isn't just me!

    Best wishes,

    Mark

No, recordings are playing fine here using PowerDVD for video and ffdshow for audio, can stop\start as many as i like one after the other.

Could be codec related, but would of thought a lot more people would be having this problem.

I have had this problem all the time in RC3, so have returned to RC2 where I don't have any problems at all. Reported it a few days ago but have had no repsonse.

Thanks for looking into this. Which codec are you using, baffledboy (I know how you feel!).

It's not a major show stopper, as you can always quit and start again, but it is an inconvenience, and the problem survives a complete clean out and reinstall.

For information, I am using Windows XP, so VMR renderer. Not tried to reproduce with Vista.

Hi Mark, also on XP sp3 using VMR. it happened with both MPV and Cyberlink codecs - the only 2 I have installed. I would have persevered with RC3, but as you can imagine the WAF was non-existent so I dropped back to RC2 on both my server and 2 clients with no reported problems.

Besides above, there is showing in logs error connecting vmr9 to the filter, 2 things you could try, update directx to 8\2008 release or try EVR as renderer(net3.0\net3.5 with updates required)

Personally would update everything, including any wmp11 updates :)

Also might be worth waiting a short while and skip RC3 altogether.

    Hi,

I updated all of my directx, and also installed the PowerDVD 8 trial at the same time. Switched by codecs to cyberlink, and all is well.

However, I can't get 5.1 audio from the cyberlink codec. I set it to 6 speakers, but I only get 2.1. Not sure what is going wrong here (help appreciated).

I then left the video codec as cyberlink, and used MPA for audio, and the problem has returned.

    I hope this will help.

Perhaps after version 1.0, we could have easier setup of speakers/codecs, so that we only need to state speaker configuration in one place, and all filters which need this information could be provided with it. So far, the filter configuration is not standard for all filters, which is presumably because they are from different companies and with different specifications.

    Best wishes,

    Mark
