Re: iPhone interface for MediaPortal (iPiMP) - 4.1.0

What I'm doing is pretty easy to implement.
All you need is an install of eventghost and enabling the webserver plugin to listen on a free port. Make it auto run on startup etc.
Then you need some static html files to go along with in <installation_dir>\www\. You can get those on the web but I can't seem to find them atm.
I modded those to more suite my iphone, can send a copy of those files if you'd like. Finally I integrated all that in my own server console project.
Just to be clear, this would not be any way to make iPimp do the same. I run all this standing alone from iPimp.

Right, you'll have to bear with me.

I understand what you've just explained but i'm unsure as to what it means for me starting MediaPortal from my iPhone?

Sorry if i'm being a bit thick but if I did what you've just described could I launch MP?

At the moment i'm using the free logitech TouchMouse app to lauch MP (which btw is excellant)

eventghost is a piece of software that can map device input to actions, like starting MP.
the http :// device input (which eventghost handles as a device plugin, which are just commands send to a small webserver) can also be mapped to start MP (and the multitude of actions available in eventghost). Take a look @ eventghost's wiki's if your interested.

p.s.
I believe there is an eventghost app as well, might be easier. There are tons of these apps, I´ve bought iReceiver which is a touchpad and keyboard in one.

Hello

I get the same error message.

It sais that column state in table Program does not exist (when opening TV Program)

I have check the mySQL database. Actually it does not contain this coulum in the table program.

Maybe this was changed in the new version 1.1 of MP?

regards

Yeh its a pain... I tried to use the other version of iPimp for Mp 1.0.2 (whatever it is) and evrything seems to work again but I noticed when trying to add a recording it comes up and says it has been added but it doesn't actually add it :(

Sorry if I'm missing something REALLY obvious but I've installed iPimp on my HTPC. I don't use TV Server and only use Media Portal for watching DVD/Blu Ray. I only want to be able to use the iphone purely as a remote control

I have done the MP Client Plugin Installation as that is all I require (and everything else was disabled).

I have completely disabled the firewall on the client PC and I'm running windows 7.

Safari on the ipod just gives the error 'Cannot open page' because it says the server can't be found. safari can happily pull up other internal sites on my network (like my NAS admin page, etc). I can ping HTPC and it returns fine on the ip address I'm using.

Do I need to install Apache or have some other web hosting software running on my HTPC for this to work.

Yes. You need to install the iPiMP web application and the iPiMP remote control plugin. This configuration is option 3 on the installer page (MediaPortal remote control web installation) as described in the iPiMP wiki.
