i am just comparing EventGhost and Ir server suite. I like IRSS because for MP i can do a lot more. The only thing i miss in IRSS is a plugin to control ffdshow like this one : EventGhost • View topic - ffdshow for eventghost.
Do you think it would be possible to add such a plugin to IRSS?

Thanks for your great work

Wanted to say great job on IRSS! I have been using the media tvserver irblast pluging with great sucess. I would like to know if it was possible to add "post" blast command with a delay. I use this under mythTV to get rid of the setup box crappy osd on expressvu. Exmeple I send channel 520 than wait 50 ms than send "cancel" command this way I never see the ugly settopbox osd!

    carmenm:

I have been meaning to add some sort of ffdshow control plugin to either MediaPortal or IRSS for some time. I'll put it i my list of things to do and try to get onto it within the next month.

    Thanks for the reminder.

    pcharest:

You could batch the calls to IRBlast.exe ... I'll look at ways of improving the command line interface and see if I can support what you want without making it too complicated.

    Thanks,

    Hi Aaron,

after recently installing your IR Server Suite again after to test its current functionality I'm really impressed! Great work.
But as you'll guess I have a major problem / feature request. I'm using an IRTrans device in my HTPC. When starting the PC your service is started before the IRTrans utility bumps in. This causes your input service to not being able to connect to it. I already tried to make the IRTrans utility a windows service and set an appropriate dependency but that doesn't work either.

So my request (naturally a prio 1 :)) is if you could add something like you did for WinLIRC for starting the IRTrans from within the InputService and then connect to it?

Would be glad to hear your thoughts on this.

This is my Third Attempt and I am hoping posting this here will get a response. I really want to figure out the route I must go in buying TV Cards For TV Server

    Hello Aaron,

Thanks for the plug-in It really completed my Home Media Experience. I am using the USB-UIRT and until your plug-in I was not able to get it to work. I have The Hauppauge PVR 500MCE which has Dual Tuners and two of the same cable boxes. I need this setup in order to have no conflicts in scheduled recordings, Watch and record, and support other MP clients with Media Portal. I have no way around cable boxes because of the area I live in.

The USB-UIRT can support up to 3 Devices or Zones by using the 1/8 Jack on it and using emitters. I have tried different combinations trying to get this feature to work buy using the methods suggested on the USB-UIRT forum and I am unsuccessful with all my attepmts. I want to know if you can steer me in the right direction or support this feature in the future.

    Thanks again

When you setup the stb, in the plugins config you should be able to select the "port" (I think that is what it is called. I'm not in front of my htpc) You can set default or 1, 2 -- if I remember this right. Try setting the port to something other than default. You also might be able to set different codes per cable box. I did this once with an older cable box from Cox. It was in the cable box's setup -- that way I just used the default and learned different codes for each box.

Frantid Thanks for the reply. I did try the different ports as well as changing the ir and putting z in front of the channels. I spent like 2 days trying different things and combination's. I came to the think that the program code was not written to take advantage of the USB-UIRT ports and that port option was only written for another Device, but I will try again and document what I tried so. I was just thinking if it was not a feature someone will let me know and I can request it to be added.

    Thanks again for the reply.
