It's a shame you're not in Melbourne or I could come over and try to get it all working for you :(

I should have a new 1.0.4.2 preview version posted tonight or tomorrow, Wednesday at the latest.

    Cheers,

How do I wake computer from sleep?

This should be an easy question to find an answer to but I've searched and I can't.

I can get my PC to sleep using my MCE remote via the Ir Server but I can't figure out how to wake it again.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I am using MP 0.2.3.0 and IR Server Suite 1.0.4.1 with an MCE Remote on a Vista Basic Computer. I've made the registry change to remove the codesetnum keys.

    bonson59:

Resuming from standby using the remote depends on a few things ...

    1. Your PC supports Wake on USB. Basically, you bios has to be set up to keep power to the device and listen for a wake command. Only older motherboards will give you any trouble here, anything from this century should support this.

    2. You're using a USB port that supports this feature. Some motherboards don't provide this ability to all of their USB ports. It's usually the front panel usb ports that don't have this ability. The ones straight off the motherboard usually do.

    3. Your driver/OS is set up to support this feature. Sometimes the remote driver isn't setup to do it, in which case you should run MST (MCE Standby Tool) and make sure that wake up is enabled for the remote.

    4. "Standby" can mean a few different things ... Do you mean S1 (POS), S3 (STR) or S4 ("Hibernate")? Take a look here for a list of standby states and what the differences are. I can only get my remote to resume from S1 or S3, not S4. But I must admit that it is not a feature I actually use.

If all of those things are satisfied then you should be able to wake the computer by pressing the PC Power button on the MCE remote. That's the only button that can be used to wake the PC. When you press it you should see the light come on inside the receiver.

Standby is a pain, so good luck!

There is a new 1.0.4.2 Preview in the first post of the 1.0.4.1 thread. It has a lot of bug fixes in it so please try it out and let me know if you have any trouble.

If it works well I will release it properly and then move on to preparing 1.0.5.0 (which will have some MAJOR changes).

    Cheers,

Preview had no effect for blasting to TV

    Tried Preview
But no effect on better behavior on blasting my TV.
Blast ing stop working after blasting TV. First try OK, but after that nothing happens
As before blasting to my reciever is OK ( if I not try to blast to TV first)

Attached all the log files, also MCE remote log

and-81. I have formatted and reinstalled all software and have IR server suite (1.0.4.2 preview) back to the point where the blaster works from config but not from mediaportal. I then tried preview 2 but I couldn't get any blaster ports. I have now gone back to 1.0.4.1 and I can select blaster ports again and it works from config again but not from mediaportal. I have only installed input service and tv3 blaster plugin. Is this correct.
    Thanks

    Pastill:

Looks like a bad IR file... I'll try to add some code to detect this in the next version, but in the meantime, try re-learning the TV blasting commands.

    fwal:

Installing just the Input Service and the TV3 Blaster plugin is fine, and it should work.

The bug you're having with 1.0.4.1 (where it works in config, but not in real use) is fixed in 1.0.4.2 Preview 2, so please try it again.

If it doesn't work in 1.0.4.2 Preview 2 again then please send the input service and tv3 log files.

There is something very specific to your setup causing this problem but I believe with a bit of persistence we can get it sorted out.

    Thanks for your patience.
