Don't want to be adding to your headaches and-81, but having a problem blasting. MCE Remote, KB & Receiver/Blaster (Remote without colored buttons), XP Media Center Edition (Ver 5.1.2715.3011), Media Portal 0.2.3, reg tweaked OEM MCE driver (from Update Rollup 2 & KB912024), IR Server Suite - Debug build 1.4.2.1605. Server stops working. New to this and the logs are Greek to me.

Not sure how much log info you need. Hope this helps.

EDIT: I've copied out the log details and reduced this posts length.

    djkms:

I'll email you a new installer shortly.

    Ironman1965:

Thanks for that, when you've made a few more posts you'll be able to attach the logs, until then I can edit your posts to remove the log lines after I've copied them out to a txt file on my dev pc.

I'll take a look at your issue first thing tomorrow, I've got an XP MCE setup I can test with now :)

    Cheers,

and-81: I wanted to attach the logs as zips, but I guess you have to have a first post first. If you need any further log info just let me know and I'll zip'em up for ya. By the way this program is awesome, and your commitment and support for it is fantastic! Thanks so much for your help and hard work! Having done much reading, I've also decided to do a complete reinstall of my HTPC from the OS up on a different HD. I will be following the advice and tutorials found on this forum. There seems to be some pretty knowledgable people here. I'm not new to computers but am green as grass with HTPC's and in depth multimedia. I've fiddle-farted around so much with my current HTPC config that the problem could very well have been something I've done as well. Thanks again. :D

Not sure if its just your debug message or not, but I have no F drive. My guess is that IR Server is starting up before a necessary service.

I know this question will sound kind of crazy but I thought I would ask it here because you are the IR genius. I have a game that crashes whenever my mce blaster is plugged in (due to ehome driver I suppose). In order to play the game I have to physically unplug the receiver from the pc. Of course after playing the game I have to plugin the receiver and reboot in order to use my remote.

So here is the question. Can the macro system in your software disable/uninstall the driver, startup the game and reinstall/enable the driver when finished? If not do you know a batch script that I could use to maybe accomplish the same thing? I have been over to the games forums and they are aware of the problem but do not intend to fix it so thats why im here asking. Thanks Andy!

Hi and-81 - I havent' had time to look at the code or do any debugging as my HTPC is being put through the "wife test" in the living room :). I'm currently using the TechnoTrend plugin and am getting by using the TechnoTrend remote, but it is quite crippled in functionality compared to what the MCE remote provides, so I'd really like to get this remote working. By the way, I also can't get the IR Suite's support for TechnoTrend remotes to work. Only the stand-alone TechnoTrend plugin works for me.

One thing occurred to me regarding the iMON IR receiver issues I'm having. I notice that the codes for an MCE remote in your IR Server Suite config are in the 32000 (ie. 32341, 32484, etc) range whereas the codes being recognized for me are in the 2000 (ie. 2031, 2001, etc.) range.

Maybe I'm missing something in the configuration that is causing the lack of recognition of the remote.

Can you clarify how the IR Suite should be configured to recognize MCE remotes?

    Thanks

Most likely the "Input Service" is not started. Go to Services in Control Panel and start it.

I've reinstalled everything from the OS up, with little extraneous stuff. Followed the Tuts on playback and decrypt HD and BD media and still having the same problems. Again problem seems to occur mostly when executing macro commands. Tried creating new commands to see if possible corruption in macro. Still no success. Seem to be having a new problem as well. Translator doesn't show anymore in the tray. Shows briefly then disappears.
