Jolcese, that could be very well the case, or RC2 is simply handling drivers in a different fashion.

A good thing is that you had it working OK in RC1. I hope that you could be so kind to write a short guide/walkthrough on how you got it to work with RC1 (if you can remember). I now have a freshly installed XP_Pro_SP3 system with no MP/iMON/plugins and can start from the scratch. Once I get it to work with RC1, I will make an image of my system and try to repeat the steps from scratch again, but now with RC2. See if I can detect some config-changes required to get everything working with RC2 as well.

I have installed the IR Suite. I dont know where i have to copy the Files for the IPad and the Files for the IMon. I dont find a installation instruction.

Path for Vista is : "C:\ProgramData\IR Server Suite\Input Service\Abstract Remote Maps\iMon"

Multimapping feature vs. layers ?

Could you explain the difference between the multimapping feature and using layers (if there are any) ? Which one should i use ? I think of future work and such ?

Firstly, excellent work on this software. I am transitioning from Girder (as I have upgraded to Vista) and am surprised you have come up with such a robust solution

I have tried both 1.0.4.1 and 1.4.2 RC1 and have noticed that I can't seem to map the "Green" start button on the remote in RC1 but could in 1.0.4.1. I just get a "Timed Out" message. All the other buttons map fine. Again, excellent piece of software.

Just to let you know I am trying to use either "Translator" or "Tray Launcher" to load MP when I press the green button.

Hi im having trouble with something in the program. I have translator setup to start my receiver when the computer turns on, and shut it off when my computer shuts off. However, shutting off doesn't work.

Whenever I turn my computer on, the POWER command is set to the receiver and works fine. However, it won't go off again when my PC shuts down. The "test" button works so I don't think its an issue with the IR command.

I think it may be the service. As I mentioned, when the PC starts, my receiver is turned as it should be. However, nothing else works when I try to run them manually. When I look, the service has been "stopped" and I must manually turn it on for commands to work. The service is set to start automatically. Also, the receiver still doesn't shut off when I turn my pc off even with the service running. Any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks

Hi, I get a similar thing - mine will switch on and off with the PC's resume and suspend, but won't respond to manual button presses.

This is down to the Input Service being "Stopped". I currently have it set to "restart on fail" which gets round it and I've just come on to find out about any logging options!

I've done the same thing and it still won't work for me. I'm beginning to think that its a bug in translator. I'm currently exploring a way to use Vista's Task Scheduler to my shortcut on windows shutdown.

And-81, I am a hobbyist programmer,mostly I write code for pleasure, more to explore than do anything else. I have been tinkering with IR conrtol of the MCE transceiver. Thing work fine on my XP box but not so well on my MCE 2005 box. I was delighted to find your work since it does work on my MCE box. Your MCE Serevr Test App works when I configure it to disable Windows Media Center services. I would be interested in source code to the whole app or even a code snippet of the functions to diasable MCE services and to send/receive IR. I realise you may be reluctant to do this, I would be very happy if you at least point me towards the documentation you used in your development.

I must be going mad. Ive installed 1.4.2 RC1 and have the tv3 server all configured and its changing my stb channels nicely. But I cant for the life of me work out how to map my Amp volume to the MCE remote volume for blaster port 1.

Ive learned the commands and it tests just fine, but I cant see where to tell the remote to use the blast command rather than the MCE generic code.

Its been a long day and any help would be appreciated

Some more info...
In MediaPortal COntrol Plugin I have the MCE Remote in the remote controls tab. That tells me that volume up is code 31727. If I hit the map buttons button I have My Remote Control which is where I have set volume up to be Blast: volup|Port1 (or similar).

But this is where I cant see to map the blast command to the intial remote control button. Am I in the right place ?
