Will the MP Control Plugin work with RC3 ?? I tried it with RC2 but could not get it to work..

Newbie here. Installed Media Portal today for the first time. I am using this only for watching videos.

Installed IR suite. Main purpose is to control MP with MCE remote without requiring focus. Once I start playing the movie I can pause/play/forward/rewind without focus. But, I can't change movie, go to menu etc without focus. Only top keys in the MCE remote work without focus. But left/right/up/down/ok buttons do not work when MP is not in focus. Can someone guide me how to set this up?

The only thing that still doesn't work for me is the "Videos" button mapping. I wish someone had some advice on that issue...

Is the full source code available somewhere for the IR Server suite? I tried to look for it, but couldn't find it....

It seems like I didn't look very hard..... I found it now.

Input service suddenly stopped working

My Input service also recently just stopped working - for no reason what so ever. I installed nothing new, but suddenly nothing on the remote works any longer.

After some Investigation (Nothing in any of the logs), I found the following in the system event viewer:

Application:
Faulting application input service.exe, version 1.0.4.1, stamp 477f87ae, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, stamp 00000000, debug? 0, fault address 0x00352d81.

System:
The Input Service service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s).


After struggling for many days, I thought - fine I'll just format & reinstall windows. alas same thing. Seems I was lucky to have it working for the while I did.

I'm back on 0.2.3.0 'cause it is the only Media Portal that I can get my remote & blaster working on.

Shame really, cause when Input service was working the remote really functioned alot better than I can get it on 0.2.3.0

Hi,
Having a problem with this plugin. Using the TV3 Blaster Plugin and when I change channel with 2 identical numbers in a row i.e 114 it inputs 14. It always seems to not blast the 2nd number.

For example

When I enter 122 it blasts 12
When I enter 133 it blasts 13
And so on...
It blasts 101 fine just when there is the same number twice!

No matter how long I set the delay between number blasts the problem persists.


Please help!

I have been trying to get mp to use my ir blaster to change stb channels with very little luck. I had the channels changing once but I had to reinstall all programs and since have not had any luck, I think it is probably something easy but I believe I have missed something. I am using MediaPortal 1.0 RC3, IR Server Suite 1.4.2, Schedules Direct, Vista Home Premium, Avermedia Tuner w/wmc ir blaster. The blaster 3 plugin config works fine for testing channel change, but inside mp it makes no changes. As I said it worked once and I hope you might have time to help me with something simple.
I just want MediaPortal to change my stb channels.

Vista MCE Transceiver freezing - fixed

After cpp2005 kindly solved the 'Vista resume' bug, some users still found that the plugin would eventually stop responding to remote button presses. This 'freeze' would happen spontaneously (or at least for no apparent reason). The issue was discussed here, where a tentative patch was provided. The source code is attached below.

The problem occured when the read thread threw an exception and stopped upon encountering an unexpected 'IO Aborted' error from the device. The cause is unknown, except that it appears to be related to a timeout. Fortunately it was fairly easy to modify the read thread to handle the error, restart device input and continue.

The attached code also addresses individual blaster ports correctly. What I see is that physical Port 1 actually maps to the high bit of the mask, which is to say 'software' port 4. Port 2 maps to software port 2, and software port 1 is unmapped. (Was implemented in reverse.)

Any other changes (specifically in Learn()) just follow logically from the above, and do not fix anything that was broken.
