Hi all,

I have an HP media center pc with hvr-1600 tuner and hp version of mce remote. PC model is m8120n and cable box is Motorola DCT6200. I have remote working with ir server suite test version. The problem I have is that the learn option times out even after installing the patch so I copied the key map from dct6200 folder and am able to get channel up and down only to work. I can't enter any key directly from key pad on remote.

Please offer suggestions or help.

After cpp2005 kindly solved the 'Vista resume' bug, some users still found that the plugin would eventually stop responding to remote button presses. This 'freeze' would happen spontaneously (or at least for no apparent reason). The issue was discussed here, where a tentative patch was provided. The source code is attached below.

The problem occured when the read thread threw an exception and stopped upon encountering an unexpected 'IO Aborted' error from the device. The cause is unknown, except that it appears to be related to a timeout. Fortunately it was fairly easy to modify the read thread to handle the error, restart device input and continue.

The attached code also addresses individual blaster ports correctly. What I see is that physical Port 1 actually maps to the high bit of the mask, which is to say 'software' port 4. Port 2 maps to software port 2, and software port 1 is unmapped. (Was implemented in reverse.)

Any other changes (specifically in Learn()) just follow logically from the above, and do not fix anything that was broken.

Hi all,

this is my first post and with this i want to thank all people, they work hard on mediaportal and this website.

Please dont "kill" me if i have those "noobquestions" but i dont find it with the search button

I have a MCE Remote Control and Vista32 Bit but with and without the IR Server Suite mediaportal could only receive OK and Navigatebuttons if i click with my mouse on mediaportal. The Buttons "play" and a lot more dont works. I see that vista controls the remote before i could learn a code with my remote control. thats my questions:

1. What should IR Server Suite make with mediaportal?
2. I saw in the board "MCE Replacement Plugin" is this obsolete? or should i change a driver because my vista even controls my mce
3. it is possible on RC3 to change the focus always (MPFocus dont work for me)...because i have a "two monitor system" and MediaPortal starts on 2nd display. I would like to work with pc on my first display and to have mediaportal on my 2nd display.

Motorola DTH320-4 STB

I have a Motorola DTH320-4 Sky STB that I'm trying to get working with the IR Server Suite.
The set top box isn't currently supported and it doesn't seem to work if I try and teach it using my Sky remote. I'm using an IR blaster from an MCE remote. If I teach the receiver with anything other than the STB (TV, HiFi) then the blaster works fine. Is there something else I'm missing or a way I can give a file with the codes it learns that someone can look at?

This is a Sky (New Zealand) STB btw.

I've got an Imon reciever (in my Antec fusion case), which works perfectly with IRserver. It has a LCD display (blue text).

My father also recently bought an Antec case without the power supply (named as Antec Remote) - it has an optional (extra) remote. The problem with this case is that I can't get the iMon reciever get to work with IrServer. The front display lits up when I press 'detect' in IR server configuration, but it doesn't recieve IR signals (I tried the keymapper and the MP plugin). In the imon software, when I turn front display on, I can recieve signals (when I press a button, the imon software states a message on the front display that the key is not mapped to an action).
The only difference which I can see, is that my LCD display has blue-ish text, while my fathers has white-ish text. Could it be a newer Imon reciever which needs different settings or more worse: which isn't supported in IR server?

hey guys, no time for a long post, just to say that I'm not dead I'm working on an update, can't make any promises at the moment as to when that will be available. Very, very busy with work and real-life stuff at the moment. The project is not dead, and hopefully I'll get an update out soon that will fix a few bugs for imon and mce remote users.

sorry for the neglect, i've been super-busy with my new job (which is awesome).

Sorry I can't answer any real questions right now, I'll try to get on here more in the future and get back to you all.

Of course I also have a request

I just moved from using MP 0.2.2.0 with your message plug-in and HIP to using MP 1.0 RC3 with your IR server. There is just one thing I can't get to work properly; I blast 'on/off' to my amplifier at standby and resume, but when going to standby using the MP controls (not the remote button) the IR server doesn't blast. Is that a known issue?
