*Never mind - all sorted - solution was to do a manual learn on the IR codes - strange that the same confirm from my previous STB didn't work - anyway - the wife will talk to me again tomorrow so it's all good

Hi Guys,

I've got a strange problem - I'm in Australia and I just upgraded my STB from a standard def Foxtel box to a Foxtel HD IQ2 box. The new foxtel box accepts IR signals from the same remote control as the old foxtel box but when I use my IRSS configuration (which worked perfectly for my old Foxtel box) the new STB doesn't recognise the IR input... weird...

Any ideas? Does anyone have a Foxtel HD IQ2 STB working with IRSS - if so how did you get the IR codes - are you using a preset or learnt codes?

I recently bought the MCE Clone remote from Remote Control for Media Centre and TV : oo.com.au
And i couldn't get it to work with IR Server suite. It detected as a HID Keyboard & Mouse.

I chose the HID Devices on the input configuration and trying to LEARN the green button from the remote but no joy at all.

Can someone point the the correct direction to setup the green button on IR server suite.

I have this issue as well. I'm running Windows 7 (7000) on this particular PC - on my other two PCs I run XP Pro and the MCE remote works out of the box. The W7 box has issues with the normal operation of the MCE receiver, so I am using the IR Server.

On resume from sleep, I cannot use most of the buttons on the remote - back, menu, info, etc. but the arrow keys and Enter work fine. They also worked fine without IR Server. The trick is to restart the Input Service upon resume from sleep. I couldn't find a way to do this automatically so I came up with this:

RESTARTING THE INPUT SERVICE AFTER RESUME FROM SLEEP

Now if anyone can find a way of doing this for XP then I am happy also
Cause I never figured that keeping my remote working on my asus eee box mp bedroom tv sollution was the hard part
Getting out of bed to restart the service after powering my tv is a bit of stupid
Is there any light at the end of this tunnel?

Does not send first digit inside MP

Hey guys... New to IR... Got my system blasting to my Sky Box just fine. Well almost just fine..

For some reason the first digit does not get sent correctly... For instance, I will change to Discovery Channel whish is channel 71 and the system will just send 1... I have found a way around this, I'm getting the system to send three digits so it now send 071, there for the system gets the 71... Problem is I have a few channels that are over 100, for instance 111 is Shine, but it goes to 11....

I have even fixed this though, as I just get the system to repeat twice, the second time round it works fine... It seems that the changing of the channel it self is causing packets of information to be missed.... Any ideas? Its not a biggie, but would be nice to work out...

I reckon this could easily be fixed if we were to have a "Delay IR Blast" function, so the system could get the channel change out of the way and then IR Blast...


On another completely different note... How do I use IRSS to run external applications seeing that I can not run Imon any more...

You should be able to do this with either group policies (run gpedit.msc) or with the Task Scheduler (in Control Panel), I forget which.

Blasting 2 IR Commands for each MCE Button

Is there a way to make Ir Server call other commands besides the ones that are labeled <Number>.IR?

It seems that the IRBlast.exe file defaults to calling <Number>.IR (0.IR - for example) when you give it a command of:

-pad 3 -channel <channel number>

I have two stbs, so I named the commands 0C, 0F, etc.

So, I want IRBlast.exe to call 0C.IR, rather than 0.IR. How can I accomplish this? Is there a way I can modify the IRBlast file (if so, how do I do that?)?

Anyone has any experience using Translator to map keys to make use of the Remote Control Filtering function in MovingPictures?

hi and-81, im a bit confused to what extend i can use your program.

i have a hauppauge 45button remote, and would like to buy a IR receiver and use both to control mediaportal.

what characteristics does the receiver has to have?

does mp must be focused when using your program? cause i run 2 screens and would be nice not to have to select mediaportal and then get the remote.

Does anyone know how to call IR commands that aren't named 0.IR, 1.IR, etc?

I have two different set of IR commands, so only 1 set can use than naming convention. The other set of commands must be unique.

When I call IRBlast.exe, it specifically looks for IR commands with the 0.IR, 1.IR format.

I have another set named 0C.IR, 1C.IR, etc.

I want to be able to call either depending on which STB i'm trying to blast.

Any suggestions? I've tried everything else and nothing has seemed to work.

I have verified that all hardware is fine and working.

Hi all,

Just have installed MP 1.0.0 , TVServer 1.0.0, along with plugin IRServer suite 1.4.2RC1.
I have a Settop box that is linked to HTPC/MP through Composite (CVBS#1) connection.
Unfortunately, I can't change channels from within MediaPortal. I created my channels in TV server config, as external, through CVBS#1, gave channel number, selected Cable over Antenna option, set the name and all that, but no go.

I configured the IRserver plugin so that my settop box is recognized (had to learn the IR codes), and changing channels on the settopbox works fine FROM the IRSERVER plugin test button.

But from MP, no command is sent to the settopbox (light never blinks). Live TV works fine, but channel won't change. When I select a channel, for example, there is a brief sound cut, brief picture freeze, but no comand is sent to the settop box and live tv continues without changing channel.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm assuming there is something obvious i'm not doing to get TV Server and Media Portal working together. This is the last issue I have to deal with. Otherwise Media Portal is working great.
