Never really added anything to a wiki. Any additions and modifications in future will be done on the wiki.
No problem. For wiki's are sometimes a bit strange, and I hate it when it does not display something like I want to get it ;), but nevertheless it has many advantages for other users.

I hope someone can help me out here.

Using TVServer 1.02, Vista 64bit, USB UIRT and IRSS 1.4.2. (Also tried 1.4.1.0)
Everything works..but the damn TV3 plugin in TVServer doesn't work.
The plugin is visible and when i enable it, it pops up under the plugins folder.
But when i click on it, the title at the top changes but the menu screen just stays on the original screen.

    Any ideas?

Edit: Well this just has to be some kind of bug. I reinstalled the TV Server, reinstalled IRSS and still have the same issue.
However the USBUIRT works fine when using the standard MP client-side support. So the issue can't be with the USB UIRT.

Edit2: IRSS does not seem to recognize USB UIRT alltogether, even though it works like a charm in mediaportal client-side..

Edit3: Installed MP 1.1.0, still the same issue. Then tried 3 older IRSS versions and it still just doesnt work.

Edit4: Reset the whole PC with a proper working ghost image before installation of USBUIRT, IRSS and Girder.
Installed USBUIRT, Installed Girder, Installed IRS. I hav also tried to disable my MCE Transceiver (ehome), rebooted and tried again: No difference. Have also tried other USB ports for the USBUIRT.

    Same two issues again:

    1. - clicking on the TV3 plugin in TV server results in no page change. (No errors either)
    2. - IRS does not detect USB UIRT. If set to USB UIRT manually, it still doesnt work. In the debug client it gives the error IR Server not set up for learning and blasting.

However the USB UIRT does work in Girder, it also works in the standard functionality provided by MP Client and learns and blasts in MP as well. This is useless for me though as i need the TV server to learn and blast, not the client.

I know for sure that point 1 still worked in MP 1.0.0. Back then i didn't have the usbuirt yet but already looked at the tabs and config options available on the TV3 plugin.

    Edit5
Thank god at least some progress:

It seems a wrong host is selected when clicking on the plugin (This is during TV Server setup), however i have 0 options to select the right host.

The cause to the issue with IRSS-USBUIRT Detection is still not found though.

    EDIT6:

This might cause ir server suite to not find the usb uirt during input configuration:
(In this example ms mce is on, when i disable all of that, the same occurs anyway)
This happens during input server configuration.

    Hi,

I have a simple question but was unable to find any solution with the search function...

I am using a MCE remote and IRSS. If I press the power button on the remote I don't want the PC to go directly into standby but want to map the standby command into the keystroke CTR + ALT + S in order to trigger StandbyWatcher... So my question is, is it possible with IRSS to intercept the standby command coming from the remote and transfor it into a keystroke?

    Thanks.

As you may see in my above post i have some issues with IR Server Suite.
    There were two issues:

    - The TV3 plugin in TV Server didn't work (Solved! It seems an old host entry was in SQL Server, i removed the entry manually from the table).
    - IR Server Suite does not recognize USB UIRT at least in Vista. I have tested and confirmed this issue with IR SErver Suite 1.4.2.2963, 1.4.2.2943 and 1.0.4.1 Wether i use input service or the IR Server application doesn't make any differences. However here comes the surprise...IR Server Suite 1.0.3.5 (Yes..a version from 2007) does correctly recognize the USB UIRT. However this version is quite old and unstable. As i am now convinced the USB UIRT recognition failure is a bug in the newer versions i hope someone can solve it :)

    Not IRSS related ;)

Well i would agree to some degree. The entries were created when i tested IR Server Suite half a year ago. I deinstalled the ir server suite after that and would expect old database entries to be removed ;)

Right now if the hostname resolve fails for whatever reason, the whole plugin stops working. Maybe a good approach would be to still show the plugin screen with a clear "disconnected" message and let the user correct the hostname if required?

Great thanks! :) I have blasting within MP working now with version 1.0.3.5 but it crashes sometimes (irscomms). Which makes sense as its an old version and those instabillity issues were solved later on. I've seen old posts mentioning this issue with 1.0.3.5.

I've set it to run in compatibillity mode XP SP2 and 1.0.3.5 seems to run better then.

What is the recommended way of upgrading from an older build? Should I remove the old one first? How do I keep (most of) my settings?

    Thanks for any info! :)

For your info, 1.0.3.5 is build 1007 from 27-10-2007.

Did you get the chance to test also 1.0.4.0 from 17-12-2007 ? Build is 1162.

I don't see much changes there, so I would like to see a log from you where the detection of USB is started.

    :D

I found the various versions via forum posts but couldn't find a repository with all of them. I don't know where 1.0.4.0 can be found. Could you send me 1.0.4.0? I'm happy to test.

Also if you can tell me what steps you want me to perform and which logs to send i will do it :).

For 1.0.3.5, the logs are very simple..it just mentions USB UIRT receiver and blaster are initialized/detected and thats it. The 1.4.2.2964 log is found in above posts. However i just dont know if those errors are related to the USB UIRT not working.

My current setup is somewhat working. i use IRSS 1.0.3.5, which sometimes crashes with irscomm.dll but overal works ok. I now combined 1.0.3.5 IRSS with the TV3 plugin version 1.4.2.2963 (so not the supplied one) and they seem to play along allright as well.

    Mithrandir,

please uninstall IRSS + delete all leftovers in c:\ProgramFiles\IR Suite Server and in c:\ProgramData\IR Suite Server. Also check under C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore. Then reboot and install the latest version from this thread.

Finally post here all your logs, as attachment.
