That's strange, it seems to work on for me (but I don't know if mine is 7.3, all I know is it's version 7).

You could try sending WM_KEYDOWN (256) & WM_KEYUP (257) windows messages to it, where the first parameter is the VK value...

Thanks Aaron, I tested with those and with WM_KEYPRESS but couldn't even send a letter to notepad. What am I supposed to put in W and L params? I've tried with WM 258 (and with WM 256->pause->WM 257) and trying to put 13 (return) or 48 (number zero) to either W or L but I nothings happening. Tried using Active Window, by executable name and by Window title. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Preview 3 not sending arrow or select buttons to MP

I don't know if this is the latest release (preview 3) or my recent install of vista 64 but my media portal is not receiving up, down, left, right and select from the remote. Play, Pause, rewind, etc all work. I did do a fresh install of my OS and a fresh install of MP and translator. Maybe there is just something simple I'm missing...

Sorry if this has been covered before, I did try a search but these forums are not search friendly..

Quick question regarding the IR Server Suite - does anyone know if this supports the internal IR receiver on a Mac Mini? Ive not had any luck getting that to work with anything but the Apple remote, so I've been having to use an external Microsoft USB receiver. I'd love to get rid of that little box.

nevermind I fixed the problem. Somehow the buttons didnt map over to the plugin config within mp.

HI I have Just install The prevew3 version. After instaling

1.-on MP configuration (I have uncheck MCE REmote and Check IrTrans)
2.- I have start MP and everything is working
3.- I have restart the computer
4.- Open MP and the MCE Remote is not working at all
5.- I have open windows Vista MCE and the remote is not working either
6.- I have open the IrTrans Translator, and MAP Key "UP" as system wide
7.- The Key "Up" works on Windows Vista MCE and on MP
8.- The rest of the Keys are not working

9.- I have see on the IrTrans config on MCE REMOTE and option "Disable defaul Mapping " on the remote map, I have Uncheck but it keep check Everytime I open again "this maybe a bug"

DO I need to map all the key of the remote in order to work just like a regula MCE Remote??

I did format/clean OS install and reinstalled MP then copied over my old directory. Everything seems to work ok except that my MCE keyboard seems not to work in MP. The remote works fine and the keyboard works fine in windows, but in MP most of the keys do nothing and the backspace key acts odd. I assume my mappings got screwed up. Does anyone have a file (if thats how its done) with the correct MCE keyboard mappings?

First of all, sorry for the late reply guys. I've been hoping to have a new test version available but it always seems a day or two away ! lot's of conflicting priorities...

Hopefully there will be another test release within days, and if it goes well I'll do a final 1.0.4.2 release shortly after.

well, I've spent a lot of time trying to get the windows messages to work myself and I can't get it to do a bloody thing with WM_KEYPRESS, etc...

I'll try to find another solution for you and get back to you on that ...

It doesn't support it right now but I'll try to add MacMini receiver support.

I don't have much experience with IrTrans myself, but I believe you will need to map all the buttons to get it working. I'm hoping to automate the whole setup process soon, so you wont be stuck mapping buttons all over the place. Until then I'm afraid you are stuck.

Also, number 9 should be fixed in the next version.

That's strange, have you installed the mce ir rollup package?

Apart from that I don't know what it could be. Perhaps if the rollup doesn't fix it then send me some logs and i'll see what I can find.

I updated to the latest SVN and everything works now. I think something got screwed through my format/reinstall/paste.

Anyway, it works now
