I tried to install the test build for MP 1.0 RC1 but the installer crashes when it reaches the "View License" screen.

The non-test build installs fine, but I am having problems with the TV3 server blaster (blasts fine in testing but doesn't blast when changing channels in MP) so I thought I would try the test build since it only stopped working when I upgraded to RC1.

I'm using Vista Home Premium 64 Bit.

    EgoManiac:

What does the installer say when it crashes? This is the first report of an installer crash I've heard of.

You probably need to follow the guide I linked to a few posts back to resolve the TV3 plugin not blasting issue.

If that doesn't work drop me a log file and I'll see what I can see.

    Cheers,

    Cheers,

The installer just crashes with Vista giving the :

"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"

There is a log file generated, I have attached it.

Also attached the TV server error log which has some TV blaster errors in it.

I just wanna thank you and CybrMage for your wonderful work on making the MCE remote work with IMON!
It's now working flawlessly for me!

    Hi,

OK I'm feeling like a complete gumby here, with all the posts saying this is working great with the iMON remote. Could somebody please explain what I should install from the first post? Do I install 1.0.4.1 or 1.4.2 RC1? I assume I need to add the iMON update files afterwards, and assume the iMON USB receiver files in the update go into the IR Server Plugin directory, but where is the iMONpad.xml file supposed to go?

I've tried installing both 1.0.4.1 and 1.4.2 RC1. It seems at least with 1.4.2 RC1 I get the option in the Input Service Configuration to select an iMON remote, and indeed pressing the detect button does check the iMON device. But then when I go into the MP Control plugin, there is no IMON remote option. I've read the doco, but I must have eaten a bowl of stupid this morning. What configuration do I need to do in the MP control plugin, and have I installed everything correctly?

    globaldonkey,

    install 1.4.2 RC1, then extract "IR-server-suite-test-build-1.4.2-rc1-imon-update.zip":

    1. Overwrite Imon USB Receivers.* with the files from (post #1).
    2. Overwrite Imon PAD.xml with the file from (post #1).

Imon USB Receivers.* goes in c:\program files\IR Server Suite\IR Server Plugin.
The xml goes in the "All Users\Application Data\IR Server Suite\Input Service\Abstract Remote Maps\Imon".

Sorry guys, this iMon stuff will be easier in the next version. Please remember the iMon support is really really new, so it's not perfect yet ...

    EgoManiac:

Very very strange... I'll get some more testing done on x64 systems and try to fix it in the next version.

    Cheers,

    Hi All
First of all I would like to thank Aaron for this great piece of software. In my opinion you are really the IR god!

I am also trying to use the MCE remote with the integrated iMon receiver of my silverstone case. What I really like is the Translator to start-up Mediaportal or to fire a few command scripts on resuming from standby. But when I try to learn IR commands from my MCE remote together with the iMon plugin/receiver there is no reaction. I have included the logs where you can see that the receiver gets a signal on pressing a key but Translator isn't using it correctly. Of course I have installed the imon patches as described by chemelli. Anybody who got a hint for me what I am doing wrong?

    Hi Aaron,

Sorry if I sounded a bit frustrated - just couldn't work out what should be done to try this out and was feeling a little inadequate ;)

So here's what I've done so far:

    1. Install IR Server 1.4.2 test build.
    2. Stop IR Service
    3. Copy iMON update files into the locations provided by Chemelli
    4. Start IR Service
    5. Start IR Service Configuration. Check iMON is checked.
    6. Start MP configuration, go to MPControl Plugin and delete MCE remote and add Abstract Model Remote

I noticed that IR Server kills iMON when it started. I get nothing in the debug program and nothing in Media portal.

Interestingly, the iMONHidReceiver.log has the following lines in it:

    2008-04-29 00:53:45.812500 - HID_SetMode(Keyboard)
    2008-04-29 00:53:45.812500 - HID_SetMode(Keyboard): Can't find iMon Manager... unable to set mode
