OK, I will try, I put it in custom folder instead of default because, there is a warning.txt file wich say :
DON'T modify files in this folder, modify files in the "custom" folder ONLY!
In waiting for irtrans, I used an usb-uirt configured by a UIRTUSB-remote.xml receiving commands
I saw that usbuirt.xml only works if putted in C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal
No work if put in InputDeviceMappings strange, no ?
Now, I will try to use usbuirt only for sending command instead of receive.
But for that, I'm waiting for my radeon x800xl vivo (input composite connector plugged with a freebox, TV by ADSL) works in MP.
Communications for that with dman are in progress but, this is not the subject

edit : works fine in default folder too !! 8)
edit2 : I just see you made a modification today for that, tested, OK, a beautiful msgbox when no .xml file, now.
And continue to work is I put the .xml file in default folder too.
Great, thanx

No, that's not strange. That device is an old implementation and does not take advantage of the current input mapping editor. This might change in the future, of course. But currently that's normal.

Yes, that's true for predefined remotes. But MP does not come with a default mapping for your remote, that's why you need to have a default one in the default folder. (Lots of "default" in that sentence...)

Great job, hwahrmann :)
One thing I have seen :
There is a "little" problem but, resolved modifying my .rem irtrans file.
I had configured irtrans .rem with special characters first time.
ie : <<or>> or |<<or>>|
With this characters in .xml file, errors appears when clicking on mapping and the .xml file was deleted.
Corrected with both .rem and .xml changed with rew, ff, etc.. instead of specials characters.
Bests regards

I'm afraid that's violating the xml syntax, so it won't be allowed in that way. it needs to be < for "<" and > for ">" then it should work.
