Is it possible to get any Web-channel with IPTV? (1 Viewer)

Hi!
I'm confused about what I can use the DVB-IP card for. Is it possible to f.ex. create a source-file with "http://www.ustream.tv/channel/6540154" which is NASA HD, scan it, and get the NASA HD channel?

How would I do this? This is a flash-stream.

If this is the wrong way to do it, please help me to find some channels. I wanted to test it with NASA HD, but I can't seem to get it working.

Hi,
you can't do this with DVB-IP. DVB-IP needs that stream is MPEG2. For flash streams use OnlineVideos plugin.

Aha, I see.
But that would be a plugin for the client right? I would want a service on the server.
Maybe you know some MPEG2 streams then? I guess someone must have a NASA HD in MPEG also. Flash is getting old.

In other words; I would like to be able to stream videos from my server as normal TV-channels, being able to record as well (not important)!
Where would I get URLs for this?

Yes, OnlineVideos plugin is on client side. For TV Service it is impossible to handle web data, because TV Service is limited to DVB specification, which means that stream must be MPEG2 transport stream. Many flash based players work with FLV format, some of them with MP4 format, but none with MPEG2 transport stream So, only solution for web based streams is client side OnlineVideos plugin.

Serioussly? So this IPTV thing is only for those who has an ISP which delivers it?
I thought you could find streamed channels online, and just copy the url?

How about WMV formats? Isn't that mpeg2?

Yes, IPTV is only for those who has ISP which delivers streams in right format (DVB-IP is specification like DVB-T, DVB-C or DVB-S). It doesn't work with web streams. WMV format is same problem, not compatible with MPEG2 transport stream.
