hi all i seem to be running into problem after problem 2day!!

so the problem is this:

I had everything working the way i wanted, all episodes showed up and played no matter what format. I decided to add the rest of my shows to the server that i am using. i also added some fan art. these are the only changes i made between 100% working and now!

basically when i try to play vob files over the network the screen goes black as if the show is starting but nothing happens. It does not crash though because when i click the stop button it returns to episode list. This only happens with vob files. I can still play divx avi files and all my music works (music is also stored on the server)

I thought maybe it was a network problem but xbmc seems to be able to play these episodes fine !

Any help would be much appreciated

Marty

just to update i tried playing the vob files outside of media portal but still over the network and they play fine so it cant be a network issue

Try playing the same vobs in My Videos rather than the plugin.

    Thanks for replyin!

same result as before. i can play divx or avi but no vobs? i was able to play all of these before hand and can still play them in vlc over the network!

tried changing the codec but didnt change anything

i also turned off all the autoplay settings in windows could this have affected it?

I can still use my films plugin and all movies in here are stored as vob files (i.e. video_ts) but they are stored on the computer not the server.

    very strange problem

    UPDATE:

I tried transfering the vobs back to the htpc and playing them in the my videos sections but still nothin. Its definitely not a network problem. The problem lies in mediaportal!!
