Im having an issue with scan not taking place after resuming from Standby. I notice this as I have new programs in my directory upon resume but I don't see them added to the database.

I'm in the process of testing and examining the log files. I think it might have something to do with the network not being available immediately after standby resume. Im not sure.

Has anyone else got this issue?

    Cheers,
    Damien

Funny enough, after a reboot last night and a resume from standby this morning. the Full Scan that was scheduled (6hrs) worked as expected. Maybe XP got into a funny state with going in and out of standby.

I did notice though that when it did do the full scan in the morning it didnt pick up local files I had removed the night previously while the machine was in standby. Is this expected behaviour, can anyone confirm? When I restarted Media Portal they were removed.

    Cheers,
    Damien

This might be why I sometimes am having problems:

    7/07/2007 9:29:13 AM - Can't connect to http://tvdb.zsori.com/interfaces/GetMirrors.php : The remote name could not be resolved: 'tvdb.zsori.com'
7/07/2007 9:29:13 AM - Can't connect to http://www.thetvdb.com/interfaces/GetMirrors.php : Unable to connect to the remote server
7/07/2007 9:29:13 AM - Could not connect to any mirrors, please check your internet connection!

It would be nice to have a prompt to retry in Media Portal, what do you think? Or even silently retry. This could be manually configured (how many secs later) in setup.

Its a Gigabit ethernet connection to a router. I'm using DHCP, internet connection is ADSL2+ (23mbit).

Might be that the on board lan controller is slow to respond from standby. Not sure what to try to make it faster...will have to look into it.

I guess immediatly after resume you don't yet have a connection, this may take a couple of seconds.

I guess I should make it retry a minute later or so.

Normally connecting via DHCP tooks are short while. You can try to set a fixed IP. That could fasten the reconnect.

I think this is OK now, Static IP didnt help but I went into the Power Management feature of the LAN Controller and disabled Standby from powering that device off.

I didnt see the problem this morning, but will look out for it just to be sure. The prompt to retry or automatic retry after a minute is still a good idea for future release.
