Ok, here goes....

Changed onboard video to use 256Mb RAM, leaving me just another 256Mb RAM for OS and MediPortal. Installed ffdshow and set MediaPortal to use it. Tried the 'force directx' option again.

Still no joy.

the reason i said about the onboard video was that from memory i could play movie files ok when not using media portal - and dare i say it GBPVR ran fairly well aswell but i got ahuge improvment when i got the radeon card - and MP rocks which was why i stuck with it instead of gbpvr.

cheers

Also tried the shift+! option and it reported 0 dropped frames (to my surprise). Jitter was .4. Guess that's good?

Suppose that FFDShow is working properly too 'cos I set the overlay debug option and saw the debug info (size, fps etc) when I launched the video file in MediaPortal.

Now, the jerky video isn't that bad, but it's annoying that it's there in MediaPortal but not when using Media Player as external player.

Any more suggestions folk?

I actually installed MCE on my spare disk and it seemed to install OK. I just need to play around with that to get it 100% working....but I don't wanna have to crack and use MCE when MediaPortal should work.

I have the same issue... and I have a radeon 7500 onboard in a laptop. Im using a plasma screen through the VGA cable. the picture on media player is better than on mediaportal. On some letters i saw pixels in the edges, because i'm using stretch to scale to the 16:9 screen.

Well, please do update this item with any resolutions.

I'm looking at Meedio once again, and MCE...

Looks like Yahoo have bought Meedio and there's a check to ensure your IP is from the US and they've plastered "Yahoo Go! for TV" (Meedio's new name??!!) with "Yahoo" all over the place.....

frustrated.

..glad I'm not alone

It seems that it is a bug of mediaportal because me too am experiencing this problem on the edges, and in media player or mytheatre everything is razor sharp....

I am also left with this problem in my thread https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/showthread.php?t=9576 I have a DirectX9 dogs nads onboard PCIX adapter on a MCE designed motherboard with lumpy video under MP.
I have set my WMP10 config like so,
    wmp.jpg

and this helped ALOT! With the tearing although I still get slight freezing and pausing here and there and cant help thinking that my dual cores and PCIX graphics are doing all of the leg work.

    SHIFT+! gives me: 0.00 fps (800x600) 100 backbuf X8R8G8B8 adapter X8R8G8B8 (V16) false VMR9 64.00 fps 44.55 sync 0 drwan 10292 dropped 4 jitter 19

    Regards

I have the same problem that Pollocks describe. Video works great in windows but playing through MP the video is really jerky. Anybody got a solution?

Yes! Just uninstalled Nero, like I read in ChEeSyBoOfS other post. Now it works great. Thanks!
