You mean in windows Start Menu - like this? Already there. I doubt most existing users would want a desktop shortcut added. Why not create a shortcut to quick setup guide along with the other shortcuts created during install?
Yeah it was changed in 1.2.0 beta - it used to open a file.yup it does open quick setup guide maybe in the past it didn't
And the prime reason is there are no clear instructions how to use it. Ok there's a wiki, but just a simple pdf would be nice!
The second reason is it's massive and requires the installation of windows media player (which I do not use) and other things.
I primarily wanted to use it to stream video files from a netgear stora and a proliant microserver here. I have no use for the tv function.
This I can do with videolan player
I've downloaded a upnp plugin which does nothing.
All there appears to be is a configuration page or the user interface which looks quite nice I suppose if you like that sort of thing but doesn't seem to contain suitable options.
You have a valid point there matonking - and we are trying to improve our documentation, but seriously how many free open source apps provide a complete, up-to-date wiki? Even many commercial apps don't. We are playing catch up because for the first few years it took all our time to get MP to the level it is at now, but it IS our goal to provide what you want. If you can tell me how to get developers and geeks to write anything in a wiki instead of repeating it over and over in the forums, I would be more than grateful.your suggestions are no where in the instructions/help guide
